The filter in this kit does not fit the shallow stock pan on 87 Camaro 5.7 and older but the paper felt gasket it comes with is what Gm recommends.The instructions with this kit state that a new deeper pan is required for 87 and older Camaro because the filter neck is longer and the pan will not bolt up.For 87 and older, you need to buy ACDelco TF235 for the filter and this kit for the proper gasket.88 and newer has the deeper pan so the this original GM kit is all you need.

I am a mechanic. Torqued all of the bolts, they way they were suppose to be. Cork seal, fell to pieces after torqueing them. Could not get the other seal to seal, even with using a sealer on it. Ended up getting another brand of seal, and it sealed up the 1st time with no sealer on it. I suggest to just buy a filter and seal from another company.

Great gasket and filter perfect fit on 1991 trans am with a 700r4. Comes with 2 gaskets make sure to pay attention to which one you need you can tell after you get the old gasket off the pan.

I have a 1987 Chevy Silverado R10. I would recommend getting the new transmission pan in order for this pan to fit perfect. The neck is like 1.5mm longer than the previous filter so you have to be careful if you install the original transmission pan. It can cause the filter's neck to crack. I just put my transmission pan bolts on a little looser than normal and it's been fine for a month. I check for leaks and there's no issue. That is just me trying to get my truck running. The perfect solution is to buy the new pan.

Glad I spent the extra money on AC Delco. Two gaskets included depending on raised rib configuration on your pan. Nice to be all done, fill trans and look underneath. No drips. Follow torque figures and adhere to them. Tighter ain't better. 700R4 ...140 inch pounds...borrow a torque wrench to do it right if you don't have one.

With this product you do not have to worry about getting the wrong gasket, whether your transmission pan is ridged or has a smooth mating surface.
