I have bought these German Horse muffins for years! They are my horses favorite treat, but I use them sparingly so as not the spoil my horses too much (yea, right!). I always knew that I was paying a higher price than if I had bought them through a feed store or online on an equestrian site. However, I like the convenience of Amazon. However...I just received my latest purchase. They were hard and stale...these muffins are supposed to be soft, and easily breakable or chewable,, especially when horses are older and missing some of their back teeth! These things are hard as a rock! I just went online and found out that they are not returnable! So...they are going in the garbage. And I repurchased them from a reputable equestrian site that is obviously an authorized dealer for 40% less than on Amazon. Lesson learned!

I Finally found a treat that I can hide medication in for my horse!He could smell medication a mile away and was extremely hard to treat! Not anymore! Lol!This treat is semi-soft, smells great, I even tasted it and it’s sweet, has molasses in it and horse love that! I cut one in half and make a indention in the center and put the pill in then mold it around! Perfect! My boy eats it without fuss! Will order this every time!Priced right! Ships quick!

I got these for a yearling I'm working with who struggles to chew other treats with his tiny mouth. I break these in halves or quarters and he loves them. They are very soft and would easily hide a pill if needed.

My senior gelding loved these. Easy to chew and good flavor, it seems. Too big and sticky to be pocket training treats, but definitely a good "good boy, I'll see you tomorrow!" treat!

These cookies are soft enough to use as pill carriers. I have multiple horses on oral medications.

When our horse was hurt and we had to give him medicine in the form of a (huge) pill, we tried all the other treats that had worked before. He learned quickly to not take the treat. I tried these because it had a "pocket" (hole) to hide the pill. Well, his pill was MUCH bigger than the pocket (hole) but our horse still gobbled it down. He didn't care that there was also a pill involved then. Amazing. The center for the pocket has a bit of soft "goodie" in which you can push a little pill down into to hold in place. It's not a big hole but our horse didn't seem to care.

These are great for giving pills to horses. I break them in half, pop the pill in the middle and squish the treat around the pill. So I use 1/2 per pill. You can use 1/4 per pill but it's harder to get it to fold around. Great solution for medicating horses!

All the horses in my barn LOVE these cookies! They smell wonderful, and are so much nicer than other mass produced cookies that are rock hard. At $2.99 for a 1 pound bag, you can't beat the price for such good quality!
