Your cart is empty.GFCI is a high-sensitivity, fast-response leakage protection device, which can quickly cut off the circuit and isolate the fault point when a dangerous ground fault leakage occurs, so as to avoid the occurrence of electrical accidents and ensure personal safety. The working principle of GFCI is that when there is equipment leakage or human body gets an electric shock, part of the current flows into the ground, and when the current flowing through the live wire and the neutral wire is not equal (the normal situation is equal), the GFCI monitors the current difference between the live wire and the neutral wire. Once the difference is greater than 6mA, the power supply can be cut off at the moment of 0.025 seconds, so as to ensure the safety of people and property. Easy enough to install, and solves the problem of a bathroom outlet that just had a standard receptacle. Been that way since a bathroom remodel at my parents' house in 1980, so this update was way overdue. Holds onto plug prongs firmly, which is expected when new. Seems well made, think it will hold up well. Hoping the circuit interrupt function continues its 40+ year streak of not being needed, but nice to know it should trip if necessary.

Unfortunately, I was not aware that this tamper resistant, weather resistant GFCI outlet is slightly bigger than normal. And we had trouble getting it to fit inside our existing electrical box.

Replaced a faulty GFI in a bathroom.Easy to install and clear instructions (albiet I do have some previous electrical experience).Outlet assembly seems well built and knock on wood is working fine 1 month in.

Update: The seller reached out and addressed the issue I had with the product. So, if things don't go as expected, the seller is responsive.Grew up on a family of electricians, so I can do some of my own work at home myself. Simple job: replace the GFCI in the outdoor outlet. This outlet is either dysfunctional or set way to low for sensitivity. The outlet was bypassed while waiting for the replacement. The other GFCI on the line had no issues. Added this receptable. It tested well, but, immediately tripped when the load was re-established. And, the receptable could not be reset. It was completely shot. The other GFCI - something from a domestic company and has been in the line for years was ablet to be reset when forced to flip - as a test. This product became useless. It went into the trash within minutes of installation. Spend the extra money and get a product that will provide actual and long-term service. TOTAL waste of money. Unfortunate that such garbage is sold on this website. Never again..
