I liked how it can be used for e-drum single pads or tom drums that fits in perfect. I normally use for mounting toms or single e-drum pads if needed. Awesome

My toms required a 10.5mm versus the larger 12.something A&M’s that I already had. These arms are very sturdy and work well with a lot of percussion instruments out there. I only deduct a star because I prefer hex versus the round rod for my toms specifically.

Needed a stronger mount for a new PDP rack. This fit perfectly in the clamp and the tom is rock solid. All my other Gibraltar gear has lasted decades and I hope this is no exception.

Gibraltar really makes great stuff! This is solid. And I appreciate that they make stuff for different brands of drums. Their stuff could (should) be a little more affordable to be accessible to more drummers.

I play a Ludwig Kit, but I put my 12" tom on the left side of the base drum (mounted to the Double tom holder) and my 10" on the left side of that (mounted to a clamp on a cymbal stand). This ball fits into the double-tom holder to put my Cowbell firmly in between the 12" tom, Floor Tom, and Ride Cymbal. Makes it so I don't have to put a clamp on my wooden bass drum hoop, in process destroying it.

For something that's supposed to be a used item, this is literally a very great buy! These are practically new and not a scratch on them! These must be returned items but were not even opened. Paid less than half the price of a "new" item. I'm glad I bought these. Now I can mount my DW toms on my rack.

Before I knew about these diamonds in the rough, I was in the market for short tom mounts for my PDP rack. I was looking at all the chrome tom mounts from Gibraltar and the total it would be for three of them when I came across a forum on Google while searching for reviews or info on tom mounts. It was a drummer forum and the thread was about tom mounts for drum racks obviously. One guy posted a reply about using "just L Rods". At first I was like that doesn't sound right and couldn't picture what it was or what it looked like or how it would work. That was until I scrolled down to see a picture of someone's setup that were using this exact product. Right away I became excited and happy as this might be a "cheap" way for me to mount all three of my toms instead of spending $60+ or more for three Gibraltar mounts. I have the PDP X7 maple set in white, 3 up 2 down. Anyway's after further review of his setup and the reviews by others who use these I did a bit more research on these and decided to take a chance. I mean hell it's only $11 per rod. I mean I've taken bigger losses than that as I'm sure many others have as well.....Well let me tell you all now, this was the best decision I have ever made when it comes to "bargain hunting"! In fact this in no way was a "cheap" way to mount my toms. They are heavy, solid and after adjusting my toms and rack many times to see how many different ways I could set my toms up, I have come to realize that if I would have gotten the Gibraltar tom mounts I wouldn't have anywhere near the versatility like I do with the L Rods. The shaft on the Gibraltar tom mount would come down a few inches below my rack bar and I wouldn't be able to lower my bar or toms as low as I can with these rods. Also I feel the toms would have to be at a certain angle most of the time because of the length of the Gibraltar tom mounts. With these L Rods I can have my toms angled for when I sit lower or I can have them completely flush to the floor if I choose to sit higher. If I were to use the Gibraltar mounts, my toms would have to be angled most if not always as the shafts of them would touch my bass drum if I were to lower my bar too low. So in short I am blown away at the quality and the versatility these L Rods gave me when deep down I thought I made a big mistake when getting them. Not only did I save quite a bit of money, they seem to work better than the Gibraltar's would have, they are high quality and they look just as cool with the knurled ends and chrome on it. It really gives the rack and setup a clean and stealthy look. Believe me, unless you want to spend the money for 100% chrome hardware, get these instead you won't be let down!
