So it does what is says it will... with the right hi-hat... apparently this will not work on higher-end Gibraltar hi-hats. This is the third model I have ordered to try and replace my Gibraltar no leg hi-hat stand pull rod... (2 were Gibraltar models, 1 was a random brand I picked up at a local music store) Of the 2 models that Gibraltar offers (a standard thread and a metric thread)... neither have the correct larger diameter to work with their hardware and clutches. I LOVE Gibraltar, but I am very sadly disappointed that the very company that makes the hardware does not offer the correct parts for repair.

The price is right but won't work on my DW hi-hat. If you have a DW it's best to check with DW first before ordering anything.
