Pros: Sharp, lightweight, comfortable hand gripCons: The lock knob is small, somewhat smooth and a tad flimsyThese small clippers worked well to trim small plants and dead fuchsia branches that were about 1/2” thick without any problems. The lock knob would be better if it were more grippy. Recommend.

Notes: 1) The first thing I noticed about these pruning shears is they’re smaller than similar ones I’ve owned in the past. If you have smaller than average size hands you will like this feature. I have larger than average hands. I can still use them comfortably. They’re just a little on the small side. That is true of the blade and anvil as well, which will limit the maximum size of the branch you can cut, but there are other tools for thick branches anyway. 2) The initial fit and finish is very good. There is no play in the mechanism whether locked or unlocked. The lock works well and the tool operates smoothly. The tool was lubricated at the factory. That’s one of those little cheap and easy little quality details that I really appreciate. 3) I like the bright orange trim on the upper handle to help them stand out if dropped into a pile of brush clippings. 4) The blade is adequately sharp. In my testing, it cut through ¼” thick branches with minimal effort. The anvil is nicely machined and quite sharp. I’ll probably take them apart and hone the blade to a razor edge just because I like sharp tools, but this set is sharp enough to do the job right out of the box. 5) Arrived promptly and well-packaged.

I think something went wrong with the handle. It looks pretty splotchy and I'm not sure if the texture's been affected. It's still grippy so it'll work at least. The blade seems decently sharp deep into the shears, but not so much toward the tip. Again, it'll work and it's how you usually use shears anyway, but I've seen better. Also, I don't know how they're making shears these days, but you can open these just by squeezing them. It's a nice convenience when you don't want to bother with properly unlocking it, but it's still unexpected and could potentially be a safety issue.

The clippers were much smaller than I was anticipating - basically a little larger than your standard kitchen scissors. If you’re needing to do light trimming it will work well, but otherwise it wouldn’t work for anything more heavy duty. I plan to use it to trim stray weeds or overgrown parts of my bushes, but I wouldn’t expect it to work for much anything else.
