Product Description

GlowShift’s 1/8-27 NPT Transmission Test Port Extender is specifically designed for the 1994-2007.5 Dodge Ram and is required when installing any of our transmission temperature gauges into this model year range. If the extender is not installed, internal transmission parts will break the sensor which could result in major damage. This 1/8-27 NPT adapter will extend the transmission test port, allowing you to easily install your transmission temperature gauge’s temperature sensor. Please also note that this extender does not work with 68RFE Transmissions.

Quick Install

Start by using Teflon tape to wrap the 1/8-27 NPT temperature sensor thread to prevent any transmission fluid leaks. Be sure to wrap the Teflon tape the same direction as you would thread the sensor into the test port extender. Also use Teflon tape to wrap the male end of the 1/8 NPT test port extender to prevent any transmission fluid leaks. Once again, be sure to wrap the Teflon tape the same direction as you would thread the extender into the test port.

Remove

Remove the Bolt

Remove the bolt that plugs the transmission test port. This will be the middle bolt on the passenger’s side.

2

Thread in the Test Port Extender

Thread the test port extender into the transmission test port. Make sure that the adapter is securely installed.

3

Thread in the Sensor

Thread the 1/8 NPT temperature sensor into the female end of the test port extender and tighten with a wrench. After the test port extender and temperature sensor are installed, be sure to check for any leaks.

I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra. These things are known for their overheating transmissions so I installed a second cooler and an inline temperature gauge. The problem was no one seems to make an adapter for this purpose but this part is 1/8 on both sides just what I needed to make my shorter T adapter work.

not sure if this affects the reading at all, I have expected to see higher temps but It's winter and I haven't done any towing yet. So far I haven't got over 140 so I guess thats a good thing?

This is for the cummins transmissions, won't work on hemi trucks but well constructed
