This passlock bypass resistor kit worked great on my 2005Hummer H2 with the alarm system and remote start just make sure you cut one wire only the yellow wire ! Splice into the ground wire do not cut it keep it together, then do the relearn key on for 10mins or untell the lockout turns off . turn key too off then go to on the light will stop flashing and it will then start good luck, you can also watch how to relearn on YouTube.

The resistor did not ohm out correctly on my multimeter. It is supposed to be at 2200 ohms but instead it's at 83. I tried to install on my vehicle and did the relearn procedure 3 times, after it still did not work, I decided to check the ohms of the resistor to find out they are incorrect. Now I have to fix the wires I spliced until I can get a replaced resistor.

After 5 ignition switches from a Chev. dealer and a well known auto shop to temporarily mask the problem, which they know all about, and over $2000.00 my mom and dad spent over the last 21 years attempting to fix their 2001 Chev Malibu for the SAME problem, no start up with theft light flashing, it's finally solved. Now I have the car and I did some research, pass lock is bypassed for good. No problems so far. Shame on G.M. for creating Pass lock. The idea was good but the execution was done by incompetent engineers and cheaply made parts. Chev. dealers won't do this and most independent ASE mechanics won't either because of liability. All they came up for a solution is to have no weight on the key chain when it is in the ignition in a service bulletin which is impractical. It's Total B.S. I fixed the problem for under $20.00. You can to.
