I really liked these pliers, They look good, they're sleek and lightweight and have a nice long nose. But the handles are a bit slick. They cut braid, or just about anything thin very easily, and can remove hooks no issues, I mean you might have issues with large hooks, but you're not using these to remove that one anyway. I loved the pliers, and the handles seemed slick when my hands were dry, and were troublesome when I was catching fish a lot and my hands are damp and slimy. Overall these are really good pliers, but I put them in my rigging kit at home for when I'm doing yearly maintenance on my equipment and re-rigging my catfish rods. These are excellent and manageable for that purpose.

This is a very nice pair of fishing pliers. I mainly use it to remove hooks since it has a long nose on it but the other use is to smash shot weights on freshwater fishing lines. It's well made and has a place to attach a line to it so you don't lose it.

Notes: 1) The best feature of these pliers is they are much longer than ordinary needle nose pliers. Anyone who fishes knows that sometimes the fish swallows the hook, making it difficult to get the hook out without killing the fish. These pliers measure about 4.125 inches from the center of the hinge to the tip of the nose, and about 9 inches long overall. Wherever the hook sets in the fish’s mouth, it’s always safer to use pliers to remove a sharp hook from a flopping, slippery fish. 2) The fit and finish on these pliers is excellent. The jaws are perfectly aligned and accurately machines. The handles are very smooth and well-made. The hinge springs open firmly and closes smoothly and easily. Even the hinge pins have a nice turned finish on them. Everything about these pliers looks like top notch quality. They’re much better made than most pliers. 3) There is a latch to hold the pliers closed for compact storage. The latch is easy to manipulate one-handed and reliably holds the pliers closed. 4) The teflon finish is evenly applied and looks great. The teflon will probably help the pliers resist rust if you fish in salt water. It will certainly make cleaning fish slime off of them very easy. 5) The hinge was already well-oiled when the pliers arrived. That’s a little thing, but it’s a very nice touch. 6) These pliers would work just as well doing other mechanical tasks that ordinary needle nose pliers are used for. I have tested them out on several ordinary tasks for needle nose pliers.Overall: absolutely top marks for top quality fishing pliers. Highly recommended!

Going catch and release fishing without a tool like this is just asking to murder fish that are too badly injured to survive. I use this to get in and get out quickly, and hungry little fishies can really swallow the hook deep. This is a huge problem when fishing with kids who don't realize that they should have set the hook long, long ago....and now we have a big issue. This is long enough and strong enough to get the hooks freed, and the grip is there as well. Recommended.

I did not get these for anything to do with fishing. I'd lost my needle nose pliers, and grabbed these as a replacement. Their sole purpose is to pull gunk and hair from my shower drains lol. But these are PERFECT for that, even better than needle nose since they're so long and skinny. Will grip and pull all that junk out! Love them so much, great buy.

Pivot point is stainless steel and the teflon coating resists salt/ humidity really well. The size is just right for small-medium large sized fish. Grips are smooth and get slippery with fish slime/ when wet: They could use more texture. Spring-loaded 'open' with small latch to keep closed for storage. Lanyard hole is nice to keep from losing these overboard. Construction is sturdy and the tips line up nicely but not for heavy twisting with big hooks. Comes lightly oiled and ready to go.
