Having used these frames for just over a year now we can honestly say they were a great purchase. We display our grandkids art all the time and easily change new art pieces on display. They love seeing their work on the wall as do we, so it is a great way to keep everything orderly and safely displayed. The frames themselves are very well made, the magnet is quit strong so not a problem keeping them tightly closed.I did a lot of research before purchased this brand but would honestly say we would purchase again if needed and recommend highly.

I have a bin with my kids art work, but I was tired of hanging on the refrigerator and no-no to the walls. This is genius! Acts as storage and also can display the artwork. Kids can choose what they display and it the artwork can be rotated!

I got a bunch of these kinds of frames to show off and store my grandkids' drawings. This is one of the better ones I tried, maybe the best. It is solid, uses real glass, is well made, and I love that the hinges are black and not a shiny silver that stands out against the black frame. It was more expensive than others but it was worth the price to me.

Our 10 year old has recently gotten very into drawing & making art. This frame is awesome for her to be able to display her art in and easy enough for her to use without our help. She used to put her drawings on our fridge, but when we got a new stainless steel one, we didn't want to damage the surface. So this has been a great alternative for her. Plus during holidays, I can put festive prints inside and make the gallery wall part of our holiday decor. The frame itself is really nice, too. I like that the window is real glass on the front. A lot of these I've seen have a plastic sheet in the front, which I guess would be better if you had little kids using this, but again, mine is 10 and so I'm not really worried about it. It definitely looks good and seems to be made very well. Overall we are very happy with this!

This is my second Golden State picture/frame product and the one that solidified that I'll be a customer for life. My first purchase was a large gold frame for my yearly family photo, and its quality is the same as listed in this review. You simply won't get these features with other brands, and it's really quite affordable for what you get.Best Parts:-Real wood frame is thick and sturdy, not the flimsy fake stuff that's painted to look like wood.-Real glass pane instead of the shiny plastic film that you get with cheaper frames.-Large capacity for holding ALL of the art projects.-Comes in thoughtful packaging to protect its features.-I love that you can use the matte for regular size paper but it also holds a sheet of construction paper (which would normally require a crop if the frame was limited to 8x10).My only wish is that there were an equal number of sawtooth hangers on the back for the vertical and horizontal layout (aka just one in the middle). I understand why there are 2 on the long side and one on the short, but this kept me from being able to rotate the frame in the same spot on the wall based on the orientation of the current art piece being featured. To have it be centered on my wall regardless of the orientation, I had to make 3 holes in my wall. Not ideal but doable.Regardless of this, I will be a Golden State customer for life! Their products are worth every penny and I have a feeling will outlast all my other frames.

I've been on the market for one of these display frames for some time to find a good quality and durable one to last through my child's use. Never purchased any because all the ones I've come across have plexiglass or a thick plastic as the screen. In my experience, plexiglass scratches easily and I would hate for that to take away from my child's art on display.Came across this one with a glass screen and I decided to try my luck. And I am so happy I did!!Here's why:- The craftsmanship is spectacular. Very sturdy wood with no splinters or cracks. Great attention to detail.- Super strong magnet. Took me a bit to open it for the first time, but at least I don't have to worry about stored artwork flying out in the future.- Nice straps to hold artwork in the back for easy access when we want to switch out.- Absolutely love the black hardware. Goes so well with my decor and black door handles.- Strong hooks on the back for either horizontal or vertical display. Love having the option.- It did not come with screws or hanging kits like other frames on the market, but I have plenty of screws at home so that didn't bother me. I rarely use the screws/kits that come with products anyway lol.My son is so excited now that we have it hanging in his room! He's so proud and I love seeing his bright smile every time we put in his newest masterpiece. Highly, highly recommend!

This frame came securely packaged in shrink wrap and foam to protect it. The magnets are strong and the frame seems well-constructed. I like the fact that it can be hung in portrait or landscape orientation. You pretty much have to hang it unless you are going to use a frame stand or photo ledge to display it, because the door and the back half of the frame are two different heights, so it would not prop up very easily or securely (see picture). I do wish that it contained acrylic rather than glass just because I anticipate opening it a lot, and the glass makes me a little nervous. It will definitely need to be hung with sturdy hardware due to the strong magnets/relative force required to open the front. Overall, I really like it and look forward to using it for storing and displaying my kids’ artwork!Edited to add: I deducted a star from my original rating because the magnets are so strong that it truly is difficult and a little awkward to open and close. I also wish there was a better option for displaying the “front” piece of art other than taping it to the cardboard mat. I’m using painter’s tape so I don’t damage the paper or mat, but it’s still not ideal, especially if you plan to change out the display art frequently (which is kind of the point of this frame, right?). Another set of elastic bands across the front of the frame would be nice for this purpose.
