It's made of cheap metal, so I expect it to not have the longevity of a stainless steel lapel pin and need some extra care to keep it looking nice.That being said, it is a lovely pin. Eye-catching without being too large or "blingy". Looks better in a firmly lit room or under candle/gas light, typical brightness lightbulbs do make it look a bit "cheaper". Under the right lighting, it certainly has a vintage charm - appropriate for my vintage-style attire, since I largely wear 1920s/30s style, which is when more inexpensive materials such as brass/alloy/false gems were starting to be widely used in "fancy" jewelry.
