Very 1980s Sony style radio. It would have been bigger back then, with a cord that folded up in the battery compartment. USB and batteries work perfectly! Slide rule tuner that is fairly accurate. Sounds amazing for it's small size. The Goode's pocket radio sounds good, too. It will get really loud if you turn the volume up. Great desk or small room radio. It would do well as a bedside radio. The sound is not "tinny". It is crisp with a bit of bass. It's a perfect small, background music radio. Overall, I am pleased and impressed. Goode's did a great job. It's simple, no frills. When you plug it in using the USB cord, it does not use batteries. It switches automatically from AC to DC. I plan on plugging it in when indoors and use batteries outside. It takes 2 AA batteries, so a low cost unit as well. It's well made and feels substantial, not cheap or flimsy. It rates a "10". Put the software away for awhile and tune in!

I was going to give this radio a 5-star rating, but after messing around with the tuning for a while longer, I realized the tuning slider doesn't align with the numbers at all. I got a 94.5 station with the dial a little ahead of 96. That's a pretty important feature, if you ask me, so I docked a star for that.Everything else is great. The sound quality comes in great, depending on the station of course. The tuning and volume are both easy to adjust. The two batteries I put in it have lasted a few days now, good lifetime. The 3.5mm headphone jack works well. The entire build is very lightweight, making this a great gift for seniors or radio enthusiasts.I have to say though, I'm not entirely convinced the antenna does anything. I thought maybe it was fake until I opened up the entire radio and found out that, yes, it is properly wired up to the rest of the internals. But raising or lowering the antenna doesn't seem to change reception strength? To be honest, I've never owned an AM/FM radio before this, but it definitely got me interested in the tech!

Radios are practically things of the past and I guess even using one is a marker of age. Still, my youngish feeling husband, likes to listen to the radio when he takes a bath and our old Sharper Image one, just bit the dust.I ordered this Goodes AM/FM Radio because it looked like it might be a good substitute and it is. It can be plugged in and charged via a USB A to USB C cable (provided) or battery powered (2 AAs, not included). I actually couldn't tell from the listing that it did not have an old time plug/adapter.It is small and lightweight and the reception and sound seem good as does the build quality. It isn't particularly attractive like my old radio was, but it does the job. It was easy to find stations. It's actually just what I was hoping it would be. Very satisfied.

I got this to use in the garage for working on projects and/or grilling out. I just wanted to listen to the radio, and didn't necessarily care about Bluetooth or anything else. This guy fit the bill perfectly. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised - shocked - at how well it picked up the local rock station that every other radio I've had struggled with, presumably because of the surrounding metal, to the point that the little red "tune" indicator light came on. Sound quality is as expected - crisp and clear. I did not expect the thumping of a more expensive BT speaker, but it does have an external jack if you wanted to go that route. The knobs and dials are intuitive and easy to use. It feels durable enough that I will be taking it everywhere. It's utilitarian and perfect.

Built quality is good, I like the little handle. It is very sensitive, both AM and FM, even with antenna. Downside: it's not stereo when you use headphones connected. Really like color LED when you tune, it helps to see if you tuned precisley. Speaker is really loud, you can use it outdors on hiking. Tried several USB-C cables and none working with the radio, only included USB-A to USB-C is working fine, which is odd. Overal I like it, and recommend
