Our young collie has on a few occasions disappeared on walks in local woods to chase a deer or a hare, going off in a completely different direction and then being found "ownerless" by a fellow dog walker.When she goes AWOL this tracker allows us to head in the right direction and get her under control again.I researched various other devices but liked the flexibility the Velcro fastening provides. The "find my dog" feature on the app with the direction and distance indicator is simple and effective.Would be very happy to recommend based on our experience.

Prodotto facile da usare con l’app, si ricarica molto velocemente dato il caricatore wireless, comodi le due fascette per attaccarlo al collare ma comunque io l’ho legato con un’ulteriore corda perché potrebbe bagnarsi e il velcro potrebbe cedere. Il prezzo un po’ elevato e inoltre se si va in montagna o in campo aperto non prende benissimo .

Product support is fast and awesome. This thing is cool. My only slight disappointment is the amount of time it takes to initially pin point the location from the time you request it in the Android app. With the lower wattage (which is healthier and longer lasting), it also struggles a bit to locate in some environments. But again, really great support.

We live in Alabama in a wooded area. We have no problem getting cell service from a couple of services. The first two days it would pick up the satellite signal after that it would not pick up the signal at all. When it did pick up the signal it took a long time to start the live tracking. It also would not pick up the signal if the dog was in a building or an enclosed area. Since this device does not leave a trail of where the dog has been it was useless in being able to find our dog. We have lot's of lightening in our area and our dog would escape and find a place to hide like under a house and then the signal would be lost. This may be a good product but in our situation it was not suitable.

App was easy to install & set up. But based in UK so some of set up you can’t get living in Canada. But the GPS pinpoints where my dog is & the nearest roads. That’s the most important feature. Works great. Peace of mind for me now. Battery last a long time & rechargeable cord is included. Could not get a hold of customer service.

PITPAL response to my question (cannot find my dog)To give you a bit more information, when you ask Pitpal to find your dog, we first have to wait for the next time your PitPat phones home to tell it to wake up and start listening for GPS satellites. Once it hears the satellites your PitPat can work out your dog's location and report it back to PitPat HQ using the mobile network. Must have clear sky. Did not find satellites when near trees. Gave faults location ( 100 meters away when dog was next to me.To be able to hear the satellites, your PitPat must be outside and have a reasonably clear view of the sky. Calculating a location using the signals received from satellites is not an exact science. Sometimes the signals can bounce off buildings or be delayed in other ways, which affects the very accurate timing on which GPS is based. As a result, the calculated position can move around a bit.The live map can also be delayed with updating the location hits if it can't hear any satellites because the signal is blocked by trees etc and if the phone signal is not great in that area.

Ho applicato il tracker sul dorso della pettorina e tiene bene. Buona la localizzazione (precisione a circa 5m), soprattutto se c'è una buona ricezione cellulare, supportato su android. L'ho provato anche in alta montagna dove il cellulare prendeva poco e l'ha trovato, ci mette un po' a caricare l' applicazione ma funziona. Trovo che anche la batteria duri abbastanza...solo la ricarica è un po' lunga

I bought this because it uses satellites for GPS. However I will be returning it because it needs a cell signal to report its location. I thought I was buying a product that did not need a cell signal.

3rd Update - pitpat did refund me after many many emails. Kudos for finally standing behind their product. Update - it isn't charging properly inside of 6 months and after 'try this try that's hoops', tech support said they would refund me if I had bought it from their website, but since I bought it from Amazon I had to ask Amazon for the refund, which of course isn't Amazon's responsibility. This Amazon purchase is from the pitpat store, yet no love from the pitpat team. So I'm letting everyone know the warranty isn't worth anything.I've had it for several months (MA USA). My signal at home it weak, but I kept it knowing as I move around outside, I had a signal and that's where I would be if I needed it. Today she got out (a tree worker opened one of my gates to her yard and left it that way). Anyway, I double checked the gate I told them to use and it was secured, I let her out. Pitpat to the rescue. I grabbed my phone and harness, started walking in the direction she was heading, within about 2 minutes or so, I had a location/direction to head. Without it I was heading into the 30 acres behind me, but a quick look in the right direction and there she was, about 100 yards away in the woods. Of course her 'chase me' game continued until one of my neighbors chickens caught her attention. I kept using the gps signal to keep me headed in the right direction as I kept losing sight of her. I'm thankful I had the gps. Thank you pitpat for a great product.
