GQ GMC-300E Plus is a newer model of GMC-300 series Geiger Counter. Compared to previous model,GMC-300E Plus improves overall quality. It installed a high contrast black/white LCD module, added a front LED indicator and an audio data port. The audio data port can be directly connected to any third party device application as data input, such as tablet

It is designed as a portable/convenient device. It comes with built in audible/visual signals for detected level of radiation. It can be used for radiation detection and monitoring both indoor/outdoor, as well as in other similar environments. It features automatic data recording. It can continually monitor the radiation and log the data each second into internal memory. When connected to a PC, software can download the radiation history data to the computer and the user is able to analyze those data later.

The device is equipped with an USB port, utilized for communication and external power supply/charging of the internal rechargeable NiMH battery. The GQ GMC-300E Plus internal rechargeable battery can be charged with the supplied wall adapter or with the car adapter for the cigarette lighter. Using the adapters, continuous data monitoring is possible. Using either power adapter you will not have to worry about the batteries charge condition or any data loss.

The main board has a real time clock on board for time related data logging purposes.

The USB port communicates with the GQ GMC-300 Soft Geiger Counter software and the GQ Geiger Counter Data Viewer software.

The GQ GMC-300 Soft Geiger Counter software’s appearance is an exact copy of the GMC-300 hardware user interface. You can download it for free and experience the GMC-300 user interface before you purchase the real hardware.

The GQ Geiger Counter Data Viewer software can download the time stamped radiation (history) data from the unit and save it on a computer for future references/analysis.

Prima!

This is an excellent piece of kit, to continuously monitor background and high doses of radiation. It comes with a rechargable battery, but you can also use AA battery as well. Comes with a card to tell you what is normal and what is dangerous levels. Can be hooked into a pc / laptop for monitoring recording data. Comes also with a jack point for an ear piece. Overall size is about the size of a mobile phone. .

unfortunately, this little device does not distinguis, alpha, beta, gamma, or xrays. but for looking at overall chahges and rise in level of total counts over time, and sounding an alarm" it is perfect, the instructions are a little bit in Engrish but not too bad. overall, met expectations 100%

It works great tested it on my fire alarm they admit small amounts of radiation

It seems to mostly measure Gamma. So its readings are low. Otherwise it's great geiger counter for the money.

Does what is advertised. Very close readings to my Civil Defense era Geiger counter. Really helped while I was going through radiation treatment, not only to gauge safe distance for my family, but also to observe how the course of radiation lasted from beginning to end.

not worth it!!!The device itself seems good qualify but browsing though the features I noticed a calibration feature. Why was this not disclosed in the product description? Secondly; how do you calibrate the device? Obviously with a known radiation source but considering radioactive decay is random in nature how can I be assured my sample is outputting the correct CPM to calibrate this device? You don't. It will calibrate it incorrectly. ** I believe the above point is clearly evident when I tried to test my Thoriatied TIG welding rods to see if it works. Now I don't doubt it was slightly radioactive on this device; but it was so rapid and the Red LED and alarm went off alerting me to a dangerous source. Now I know for a fact that many professionals like myself use Thoriatied welding rods all the time and the risk from radiation poisoning is minimal [if it was not every welder would be dead or have severe cancer for using it everyday.] Also be aware of the pricing!!! I got railed for buying it at the wrong time and notifying the seller of this only gave me a partial refund. He did NOT price match it where it should be. That alone makes it not worth it! Even If you can look past that the insane inaccuracies of this device it's not worth it. Even if it costs more, the one where you hold the box and point the 'microphone' to the source is worth it. This device it NOT.

Everything about this device is great, except I found it especially odd that there was no paper/printed user manual. I mean, how many people buy these with the expectation that the internet will be working when they need it? It would have also been nice to be able to use a USB-C or other common charger, rather than the more unique one required. Otherwise a great product.

I bought this to check the amount of activity that my collection of old U glass emits. I also use it to check the distance, that each piece emits.I wanted to make sure I am not putting myself in harms way with this antique Yellow glass and Green glass. It will also ensure that any more purchased items of this type, are actually what they are described as.I also have been using it to play and check all sorts of things for radioactivity. The amount of detonations of Nukes since mid last century is staggering. The British even let off a few on mainland Australia in the 1960's, and also the French in the Pacific in the 1980's.I understand this is not a toy by any means, but it's my latest toy !No Issues with this item. Thank you.
