This is, without a doupt, one serious grinder!I picked it up for coffee, but have found myself using it for a ton of different things!☆ARRIVAL & UNBOXING☆This arrived very soon after I placed my order, packed well in a medium sized, plain cardboard box. When you slice the box open, there are 3 replacement blades sitting deep in a foam block right on the top. The base and grinding bowl are wrapped in plastic. Packed inside the bowl is a metal basket and a cleaning brush. There is another layer of thick foam at the bottom of the box. Everything is carefully packed and protected, so there was no damage upon arrival- everything was in pristine condition.Theres also an instruction booklet included in the box. While the device is intuitive and easy to use, the instructions come in handy if/when you want to swap out the blade.☆QUALITY☆I'm very impressed with how well this is constructed. The stainless steel is nice and thick, heavy and durable- not the cheep, flimsy stuff that dents easy. There are some plastic bits, but it's not the cheep, kids toy plastic or the stuff that's so hard it would shatter easily.The lid is also plastic, this time clear. It's also thick and durable. It has a nice, rubbery ring around the inside that helps create a nice, air tight seal. I'll admit that the lid can be a bit tricky to click back in place once it's been removed, but once you figure out how to put it back on (hold the release button on the handle and feed the notch into the groove), it's smooth sailing from there.I also love that the base has 4 little suction cup feet. It's suprising how well they hold to the counter, considering the size, but they are VERY strong! That's necessary with this unit though because it's super powerful and when you are grinding up hard spices or even coffee, you dont want the unit to travel across your counter- and this won't.I have problems with my hands and drop things a lot. I have dropped these lid for this countless times as well as the bowl. Each has remained unscathed and in perfect working condition. This is definitely a heavy duty, well made grinder!☆CLEANING☆I'm obsessed with how easy this is to clean! I love that I can actually detach the bowl and wash it. With other units I was always too scared I would ruin or damage something by washing it, but not this one. It's also super easy to just brush out. The smooth stainless doesn't hold onto anything.☆EASE OF USE☆Once you get whatever you want to grind in the bowl, pop on the top (make sure it's sealed well) and turn the knob. There's a few different settings and both make sort work of whatever is inside.The very generous sized bowl can handle cinnamon sticks, without having to break them first and a LOT of coffee at once! In my old grinder, I would need to grind a 1lb bag of coffee in 6 seperate batches. With this, I get that same bag done in 3! And just because it's full doesn't mean the grinding has to go on forever. I don't like to let my coffee beans absorb too much heat, so I appreciate a short grinding time. This gets a full bowl of beans done- quick!☆VALUE & FINAL THOUGHTS☆This is on the pricey side, but it's totally worth it! Between the size, quality of construction and how well it works, this just might be one of the best (and easiest) grinders I've ever owned!

And a variety of other things, including coffee, green tea, and yerba mate.It has two speeds, high and very high.Be sure to read the manual carefully regarding maximum run times and minimum rest times. These instructions appear on page three of the manual. You don't want to run it for too long unless you want to shorten the lifespan of the motor. Most people will never want to run it for that long anyway, but it's good to know the limits.The 500 watt motor is more powerful than most similar grinders, which are often only 200 watts.Regarding the quirky lid: you need to lift the back of the lid up and hook the front of the lid over the protruding stainless steel lip at the front of the hopper. If you look carefully you'll see what is needed. Once it is hooked on to that protruding lip, you pull the lid back and lower the back of the lid all the way, and then push down until it clicks into place securely.
