Worked well until it broke. Replacement now costs $100 more. No repair apparently available. Very disappointed. I used GraLab timers at work. Seemed to be reliable there.I now have this broken down model 171 and an older model 300, also broken down. Product price is quite high considering the simplicity of the unit. Couple that with short lifetime and it isn't worth it.

A really great timer which I use as a shut-off for a broiler oven. No forgetting and having over cooked and burned food. This is the third one which I have purchased over the years, but it seems to have a very annoying problem that the previous ones did not. When it is switched on but not timing, the unit hums like it has a short in the gear mechanism. I am hoping this is not a prelude to an early death.

I teach Spontaneous regional workshops for Odyssey of the Mind, and it can be easy to lose track of time on a problem. I don't have a second "timer" judge, so I just set the time on this and circulate around the teams. They can look at the clock at any time and see how much time remains for their solution. (and many of them learn how to read an analog clock in the process!)I worked in a photo darkroom in the '70's, and I remember the GraLab we had on the enlarger. I got the white-face version for the classroom. It's high-quality and "time's up" is unmistakable and accurate. We don't lose track of time.I'm very happy with it.

This Ian a truly GREAT product that delivers as promised in every aspect. I use this as a segment timer for a syndicated radio show and it just works as promised! I became familiar with Hra-Lab products in the high school. Photo lab. Rock solid reliable still.

This is the perfect kitchen timer. It is sturdy and easy to use. Its buzzer can be heard upstairs and down, and it keeps going until you check your food. Then you turn it off. The little whimpy timers go "ding" and if you miss it, your next alarm just might be the smoke from your charcoal pie! This baby does the job and takes no prisoners. You don't need to stay in the kitchen, you'll hear it when it calls unless you're stone deaf. It is very accurate, too. Really good purchase. We are glad you carry such an appropriate U.S.A. made product. Thank you.

The old model had a dial that allowed you to turn off the buzzer - this one doesn't. However, it is relatively easy to disable the buzzer by disconnecting it. This does require you to open the unit, which is clearly marked to discourage that, but I went ahead and did it.

Been using these for years at our shop. Dependable and highly visible. They last a long time.

This was the 3nd time we purchased a timer from this company and had it go bad within a year. My first timer lasted over 18 years, we replaced it with the same type of product which lasted less than a year (we thought it was just faulty) so we ordered another one which lasted a little over a year. We switched to an entirely different product which so far is still ticking! so much for quality
