I purchased the Grant 697 from summit racing as I wanted the black/yellow combination but these are otherwise identical steering wheels.Great product for the cost. I am fairly convinced that Grant has either gone to the company filling ebay with cheap chinese steering wheels or that whoever Grant worked with used the tooling to make their own 6 bolt wheels. I ended up ordering what I thought was the same steering wheel on ebay and when it came in there was a quality difference. The black finish on the grant wheel was much nicer and the bolting face of the wheel was a little flatter. If you've seen the video of the guy bending his cheap chinese ebay steering wheel on youtube, this is not one of those wheels. Very very solid and was moving my whole steering column when I tried the same test. The cheap ebay steering wheel also had an adapter hub, but the aluminum felt very light and weak and I was worried if I used it that the splines could tear out. The Grant adapter was much more solid metal (never checked if it was steel or aluminum but I think it was cast steel piece) and the copper trace for the horn was much nicer. It's not clear, but this steering wheel comes with an adapter to go from 3 bolts to the steering wheel's 5 bolts. This means you order the same older grant steering wheel adapters that you can find at just about any auto store. This product is wrapped in suede which is very soft to the touch. It's not quite as grippy as I might expect an alcantara wheel to be, so racing gloves may be necessary for autocrossers/track drivers. I use this in my rallycross car. I did an autocross with it recently and did not experience any grip issues, but trying to park the vehicle I sometimes find it a little too slick. Overall it feels nice in the hands and the suede and the black anodize on the spokes looks real nice. Like I said, the combination of adapter and wheel feel very sturdy and I have no apprehensions driving down the street or on the track (unlike the cheaper ebay wheel/adapter)So after all that, why only 4 stars? The included "horn" is just a plastic insert, not a horn button. These horn inserts are dirt cheap and every ebay wheel comes with one, why they don't throw it in there when their adapters include the wiring for a horn is beyond me. I am now having to buy a $15 horn from ebay. The stitching leaves a little to be desired, you can see the edges of the fabric not finished off at the spokes. It's a budget wheel and you can see it in the stitches/seams. Also, this is their new line of steering wheels, they really should have broke with tradition and offered it as a 6 bolt wheel (as opposed to Grant's historical 3/5 bolt route) to make the plethora of spacers available out there compatible.
