I carefully created a replacement saddle for my acoustic bass guitar. I went to polish it with a dremel and some car stuff, and it got a little hot, and slightly melted the top edge, but enough that I'll need to make another. :(I'll be a little more cautious when polishing the next one.So, if you're using this material, go slowly and gently, to keep the temperature below the melting level.

It's a fancy piece of plastic, but it's perfect for a bridge saddle.

This just works! It is sooo much easier to tune and the tuning is significantly more stable.

Exactly what I needed. Lots of sanding but I have a nice new saddle better than the plastic one which came with my guitar.
