Pretty large variety of simplistic games (think a stage above atari). There aren't that many buttons which make it easier for younger kids, and is small enough for little hands to operate. You can control the volume, which is a plus. I would probably recommend for age 5+ years. My 3 year old definitely has no idea what she is doing when playing it.I like that this comes in a variety of colors, and it seems sturdy to take a couple falls/drops.Overall not bad for the value.

This game is a blast and works perfectly! It's super fun even for adults! It’s a great alternative to high end gaming systems, offering plenty of entertainment without the big price tag. The controls are easy to use, and the gameplay is engaging, making it a perfect option for the kiddos!

I’d been curious about these systems for a while and couldn’t quite figure out what I’d actually be getting, so now I can provide a full description:This isn’t like the systems that come with real games from Nintendo, Sega, Atari - these are all simple, mostly original, short games. Many of the games mimic the art or mechanics of popular games, but they are scaled down versions. If you have ever followed a tutorial on making a video game, or used an app like Julian’s Editor, these games are about as simple as what you’d end up with for the first few games you’d learn to make. For example, the Mario-like game has the green pipes and blocks you can hit for coins or a mushroom, but the turtles and goombas are dinosaurs and you can’t run, you move at a single speed across the short level. There are a lot of puzzle games like sudoku (in fact, about 60% of the long instruction sheet that comes with this is all on how to play sudoku).I see this best for young kids, maybe ages 3-7, especially for use when they have to sit still, like in the car or a waiting room. For everyone else, it’s a novelty, where some of the fun is just trying out the games and seeing what you get and how it tries to adopt the mechanics of Angry Birds, Flappy Bird, Plants vs Zombies, etc into a simple scaled down game. For the controls, from what I’ve seen, it’s more for looks since there is a lot of duplication in function. The L and R triggers at the top aren’t buttons, they’re just for looks. On the left is a D pad and joystick which do the same. On the right, Start and Select seem to act the same as your Start/Enter/Pause buttons. Then the 4 buttons above that are jump, or whatever the main function of a game is, like shooting. The screen is crisp and bright, it charges with a USB micro cable (included), and it’s lightweight. So overall, it’s not a retro gaming system, it’s not something for a gamer, it’s just a fun little novelty or time killer for younger kids. Any game on your smartphone is probably far better. So I’m giving it 3 stars because it’s not the best I’ve seen around this price point and I think the design of it implies it does more than it actually does and the games really aren’t very developed. But it’s not bad if you don’t expect too much and just need to hand your kid something to keep them busy.

I gave this handheld game device to my 10 year old son, who already has several devices including a switch, phone and ipad. He was absolutely glued to this in the car and is really enjoying it so far, the fact that all the games can be played without any internet connection and without annoying ads popping up makes it perfect for a car ride. He did wish some of the games came with instructions - if they do then we just haven't found that yet, but the games are very amusing and some I enjoyed as well like some that are like old classics from my childhood. I also liked that I don't have to stress as much about him breaking it or losing it as i do with the other devices, since this item is so reasonable. All in all, great addition to help keep him entertained in the car or other places where there isn't as much to do and no internet connectivity (don't worry he gets plenty time playing outside in the sun but we are a modern family so electronics do have their place for entertainment). Would make a great gift for other kids in the family too!
