It has slats in it so it do not saport as mentioned, I put the box it came in to cover the slats, a solid peace of wood would have worked better

This was exactly what we needed it is a trundle type full bed and the support was slats.this was the perfect thickness for the bed.the box however looked retaped and we have a small chunk of the outside frame missing but it doesn't effect the item.

The bunkie board came in 2 pieces, not 1 piece and was 52”, not 53” as indicated. It is much lighter than the bunkie board we bought from the mattress store and double the price. If we didn’t need the item so quickly, I would gone to the mattress store. It works with additional slat support, but I would not recommend it without the slats.

The information provided on this item by Amazon indicates that this item consists of one piece. What was delivered was two pieces that lie side by side on the bed frame. That said, for my purposes two pieces do the job as well as one would. I have and antique bed frame. On this frame the elevation of the mattress supporter is higher than on modern bed frames. I bought a new mattress. New mattresses are much thicker than old ones. The height of my bed frame plus the height of a standard mattress support plus the height of the new mattress made the elevation of the bed stupidly high. This product supports the mattress at a more standard lower height. Two pieces work just fine. It's just that the information provided by Amazon was wrong.

Rather than being 1.5 inches of solid wood, which would be much heavier, it is a sheet of wood, braced and covered in cloth, however, for us, it does serve its purpose which is supporting an air mattress

This was advertised as a 1.5" thick SOLID WOOD Bunkie Board/Mattress Support. This is not a solid wood unit, though there are some pieces of solid wood (as opposed to particle board) in it. There is a 3" wide x 1.5" thick wood frame around the perimeter of the unit and a single 3" x .75" slat running from top to bottom. It has slats running from side to side measuring 1.5" x .75" and spaced at about 11" apart. The whole unit is wrapped in cloth similar to what you would find on a box spring, and it feels like there is a 1/4" thick piece of corrugated cardboard under the cloth on the side that faces the mattress. This was apparently designed to be used only with a rigid bunk bed style mattress, because I cannot imagine that this would be strong enough to handle a person's weight if it were used with a regular mattress, since the slats are very thin and there is nothing but cardboard spanning the 11" distance between the slats.Admittedly, I am not an expert on beds, and perhaps this type of construction is normal for a bunkie board, but if the seller had taken the time to offer a clear description of what was being offered for sale, I could have avoided purchasing something that did not meet my needs and then having to return it. I am giving this product a one-star review, but if the seller will update the description so other buyers will not make the same mistake I did, I will upgrade the rating to 5 stars.
