This is a great kit to give you an idea of what to start with, for 50 bucks it's a waste of money though and the quality of tools is terrible. As per the picture, the axe blade chipped and broke on the very first usage. I got maybe 10 swings into cutting a 1 inch branch with it. The most useful thing in this is perhaps the crank powered flashlight, and even that isn't great. The light beam is about 3 inches right of where the light is actually pointing and it's not very bright, although, I knew going into it that that light would not be great. Those flashlights are mostly to be used in a pinch when no other light source is available or you don't have access to batteries. The knife has a noticeable cheap feel to it, but is sharp to start with. The glow sticks it comes with are only good for giving a position in the dark as only green and yellow ones work good for illumination. The multi-tool is far too small to be of any real use, and the folding shovel bends as soon as you try to use it. All in all, I would not recommend this kit for anything other than to use as a building block to attempt to build a much better set-up with actually good quality tools.
