My hobby is building plastic models. In the past I always bought my jeweler's files from the online model supply companies. The cheap ones only lasted a year or so before they've worn out, and this is from filing plastic and a little brass. Yes, this one file costs as much as an entire set of the cheap ones, but it is clear that you get what you pay for with files. viewing them side by side, the difference is astounding.
