can someone explain why there is need for non-return valve in the shower? When you turn off water, the only water left, is in the shower head. I can see the need to keep water from going back, like in a pump line,but not for this small amount of water.

Perfect replacement for 25 year old Grohe Temperature control valve. Just bought house and Sellers haven't used shower in years . Disclosed It wasn't working . I took it apart and ordered replacement parts .They all fit perfect and shower works great.!
