Quality Weights
Each ceramic pie weight is about 10mm (0.37") in diameter. The 2.2 pound jar of weights is enough to blind bake a single 9-12" crust or pastry shell. As with everything in the kitchen, be sure to wash and dry the pie weights before use.
Easy As Pie
Roux Pie Weights are so easy to use! Lay a piece of parchment paper or aluminum foil over unbaked pie or pastry crust. Place pie weights in unbaked pie crust and follow your recipe's blind baking directions for temperature and time. Remove pie pan carefully with oven mitts and let cool before removing to avoid injury. Once completely cooled, weights can be conveniently stored in their container.

They are smaller in diameter than my original set. Not sure which I like better. Both work fine. The container is nice and easy to put the weights back into. Good price too. I'd recommend to a friend.

There are lots of different types and styles of these available, but they all basically do the same thing. I had been putting off buying these for awhile. They really made a difference with the pie. LAs with anything to be used in the kitchen, wash these before using. The container looked a bit worn when it arrived. I couldn't say for sure if it was a return, or just been treated rough. The beads looked and worked fine.

These pie weights worked perfectly for blind baking pie crusts, and there are enough to fill a 9-inch pie plate to the top, if needed. When you first open the product, the pie weights are VERY dusty. Definitely wash them prior to use. I washed mine using a mesh strainer and this worked very well for that purpose. These are pretty heavy and a little tricky to remove from the pan. I usually use one sheet of aluminum foil with my previous pie weights (which were just dried beans that were much lighter) but I think it would be better to line your pie plate with two sheets of foil while using these. It was manageable with one sheet, but a little stressful when it came time to remove them. The only other note is that these expand significantly after heating, and the volume of mine did not return quite to the original size upon cooling, so they no longer fit in their original container. Otherwise, a great product that does the trick!
