I was on the fence on switching my 8bitdo arcade stick to octagonal gate. I’m fairly comfortable with square gate on fighting games. The main thing that swayed my choice was shoot em ups. It feels a lot smoother having 8 directions when playing some of my favorite shooter games. That being said I’m very happy with product and happy I switched to octagonal gate!!

I prefer an octagonal gate on arcade sticks, but my new 8bitdo stick used a square gate. When I read that this was easily swappable, I gave it a shot. This thing was so simple to install, just a few screws, flip the stick over, undo the tabs and clip the new one on. I think it took me all of 5 minutes and the stick is so much better now.
