I bought this gas cap for my '17 883 as it said it fits. I put it on and it's too small. Doesn't seal the way it is supposed to

⚠️⚠️ if you’re buying this for an iron sportsters beware it will scratch your tank. There’s a body line down the middle of the tank that makes it slightly more raised than the forty-eights.The blue bike is a forty-eight with the same style gas cap just slightly different and it fits perfect but on my 883 when I tightened it down it scratch the body line. You can modify it to work, we used a dremel tool with a sanding disk to shave off the part where it made contact with the tank and made it work.It’s a good quality gas cap and I love the look of it and the fact that you can line up the design with how it tightens down but i wish they would have thought it out a little more or gave a warning so I didn’t get a bare metal scratch on my tank.

It fits perfectly. Scratched my tank slightly after first use.Make sure you put it on the tank and then put the sticker flag on, so it lines up perfectly.

Looks great on the bike. Quality is great. Only gripe on the item is the sharp edges. Its machined so well that if not carfel you can scratch paint on your tank.
