The base that holds all the tubes came chipped. Other than that, good set.

This should be a layup. The assignment is easy: You need 12 tubes that are all the same weight that are easy to store 19g of coffee in and seal air tight.I'm not even dinging this product in all the ways I think it comes short star wise, and I can still only give it 3/5 stars.Quick background, I roast my own beans, I already have coffee vaults, I make several decaf Americanos a day and all I want is the simple ask at the start of this review. I start my day with a 22g using a triple shot high extraction filter basket, and that's fine to weigh out each morning. What I want is several 19g dark roast decafs vials ready to go throughout the day. My other coffee vaults do this well. Here are the multiple issues I've had with these coffee bean storage tubes:1. Fragile: My first package showed up without any obvious damage to the box or envelope, but one of the 12 tubes was shattered and the box was filled with sharp broken glass. The broken glass is sharp, so while I have no problem with glass instead of plastic, but know that this glass is not particularly thick or sturdy, and I would not expect it to survive being knocked off a counter.2. Two sizes: Half of the tubes are designed for "17g", but will not fit 17g of dark roast coffee. The other half are designed for "22g", but fit 19g of dark roast coffee with virtually no room to spare. The larger of the two tubes are useful for me, but I have no use case where the smaller tube is useful. Only the larger tubes are useful for me.3. Awkward dimensions: You can see in my photos that the tube's neck is so narrow that even relatively small beans will not come out of the tube without multiple shakes, as the coffee wants to get stuck if you just turn the tube upside down. This makes it difficult to load tubes with beans as well.4. Varying weights: My plastic coffee vaults are very similar in weight to each other. However, the glass tubes vary by 0.5g. That makes a big difference when trying to weigh out a specific amount of beans in each tube. To be reasonably accurate, you need to tare the scale back to 0 with each individual tube, which slows down filling these tubes up.5. Useless funnel: The funnel is so comically small that normal sized coffee beans do not fit down the tiny funnel. I tried to cut the funnel bit by bit to make it useful, but even when I cut it down to secure to the outside of of the threaded entrance instead of inside of the entrance, it still isn't useful in filling the tubes with coffee.6. Cheap foam in lid with no rubber or gasket: While a valve would be nice, I think it's unnecessary. But I do want my coffee vaults to be airtight. I do not believe these tubes will be airtight after even light usage, as the soft foam in the metal lid will wear down quickly over time. (If it is even air tight right now)Those traits mean you have half these tubes usable for coffee doses, with a useless funnel, that are time consuming to fill, and time consuming to empty. They don't help my work flow. Now, let me talk about the things I do like about these:1. They have a simple goal: There's no valve, which I like, because I've purchased coffee vaults with valves and those one-way valves absolutely did not work. Without a working valve, those coffee vaults were overpriced. This is a simple vial, and there's no attempt to convince you there's a valve or any other unnecessary features here.2. The wooden case that holds all 12 tubes is a nice touch: While I don't love these potentially breaking when they get knocked over, putting them in a wooden holding case makes it easier to put them "where they belong" and makes them more organized.3. They look nice. Subjective, but I like how they look.If these were made of plastic or thicker glass, and were made with enough precision that they all weighed within 0.2g of each other, and were slightly shorter with a wider mouth to make loading them with beans easier, and they came with a funnel that fit better and allowed coffee to flow in to the tubes when pouring the beans in, and all twelve could fit 19g of dark roast beans, I'd like these a lot!But that's way too long of an "If..." sentence for me to give these a good score. The advertised details of the product are accurate, so I will give it at least three stars, but I can't give these coffee bean tubes a higher score than that.
