Bought these on the cheap for a tiny Alpine acoustic that I had previously given to my kids. Kids being the uncivilized heathens that they are, the little guitar was destroyed. In particular one of the tuning knobs and post was completely gone. Rather than throwing the thing away I decided to get some inexpensive new tuning machines. The little guitar actually plays much better than you would think for something so small, and I had the thought to make it a travel/backpacking guitar. However one of the problems I always had with it is it wouldn't tune correctly. So here was my chance to repair the poor little creature while upgrading at the same time. I needed to keep the cost down because I wasn't sure if upgraded tuners would actually make the thing worth playing. Enter these tuners, to the "tune" of about $12. For the price these are UNBEATABLE. If I were upgrading one of my "good" guitars I would pay $50, $100 for name brand tuners. But sometimes these cheapo guitars can be liberating, in that you're not obligated to care too much about the outcome and therefore, feel much more free to try new things. It's like a new guitar with these tuners! And the 18:1 ratio works much better, especially with such a short scale length on this little guy. If you're looking for inexpensive upgrades for your cheap project, you will not go wrong with these! Just buy 'em!NOTE: I considered buying a reamer tool for this job, but again I didn't want to spend a bunch of money for something I wasn't sure would be worth it. I followed some tips that I found online (YT) and it worked great! That is, use a regular wood drill bit, I used a 3/8" since I don't have a metric set and it was perfect for these nominally 10mm posts, bit instead of using the forward setting I ran the drill IN REVERSE. Worked a little from each side and the hole was drilled cleanly with no splitting or rough tears in the surrounding finish. In fact, once I got the old tuners pulled off I saw the original holes were quite rough, despite being varnished over. This backwards method resulted in holes that were much cleaner than the originals.

These were much better than the awful stock tuners on my Jay Turser. For the money, I'd recommend them for anything they'd fit into. I'd say they are 3/4 as good as Grover rotomatics, at 1/5 the price. Darned good value!

I've bought plenty of these before, the heads are very similar to the rest of the ones you buy, but the packaging was a nice little perk. The left and rights are separated in the cardboard, the screws are in a separate zip lock, and they even threw in 3 picks in the pack. I know its just cheap little picks, but its the little things that go the extra mile.Granted other ones I have purchased, the heads are all individually bagged and sealed, to protect from water, but I had 0 issues with these. Will purchase again.

GREAT Kmise locking tuners. You won’t find any others this good at the $23 price. I used them on my 12 string to replace some $14 locking tuners that allowed strings to slip right out while tuning. Glad to say that isn’t happening with these. The quality of these is way up there, with looks and feel that match what you’d find on a $1000 Fender Strat. (Note: my picture shows tuners AFTER I replaced the knobs with oval ones I bought elsewhere.)No regrets!

Excellent product! Liked the 18:1 ratio on gear so finer tuning. Also all metal, no plastic, and great price.

I own a small guitar shop, and I've installed more than a few tuning machines. I was intrigued by these because they seemed very similar to some other tuners that advertised a 1:21 ratio, while these have a 1:18 ratio. I have come to prefer tuners with at least a 1:18 ratio. The problem with most of the cheaper tuning machines is that the mechanisms are usually very sloppy and imprecise. But I have had some (Wilkinson, made by Korean maker Jin Ho) that were very good indeed. I had purchased the tuners that looked similar to these with the higher ratio, and they were fantastic. The peg was rock solid and the mechanism was smooth and precise, with no play in them. I was hoping that these would be almost as good. It turned out they were just as good, and for 1/2 half the price. Not only is the construction rock solid, and the mechanism precise, but the ratio was actually 1:21! These tuners are a bargain. Note: I also bought a set of the tuners with the mini buttons. While that set was also well built and smooth, the ratio was 1:18.The tuners I purchased were not the small ovals, but the flared type that look like copies of Gotoh 510. Guyker sells some like that. I don't see these as an option with this listing anymore.

I bought these little tuning machines after reading several of the reviews and deciding that for the price point, I didn't have much to lose. I bought these to put on my 40 year old Korean made Carlos guitar, which came, all those years ago, with terrible pot metal tuners. After I bought an Ovation, this starter guitar basically has lived in its case. I no longer have the Ovation, and decided to pull #1 here out of the closet and give it an upgrade. The most difficult part of the swap job was enlarging the peg holes, and I bought a reamer for that job on Amazon as well (it worked great, review is up as well). I used the existing screw holes for the previous tuners, and most everything lined up, except one tuner is a little crooked, but still works great. Drilling another screw hole would have not made the situation better. So, a couple of tuners are a little crooked and I'm fine with that and it doesn't affect the tuning or playability. What these tuners have done is made this little acoustic into a guitar that can be tuned easily. It's like night and day. I also took this time to replace the nut and saddle and pins, and pick guard. My $79 investment from 40 years ago has been transformed.Get these Kmise tuners to replace those old crapola tuners. You'll be happy you did. Whether you do the job yourself, or take it to your luthier to swap out, you won't regret spending less than a $20.

Got these today. Bought them for a Firefly FFJR that came with horrible tuners. Slipped like crazy. They seem well made and with a fresh set of strings and some pulling tugging they stay in tune.At first one of the tuners was bit stiff but that worked itself out with a few turns. Nothing major. The only thing I can say negative is the screws that came with were a bit small for the holes on the back of my headstock. No big deal I just simply used the old screws which fit with no problem.Install was as expected and they were a direct fit.Do I feel I got what I paid for???At this price I really have nothing to complain about.Gave "Sheerness" 1 star because I have no idea what the hell that is.

Changed my 30 yr old guitar's tuners. I needed to enlarged the holes a bit but once its done, everything worked perfectly. Now its in tune despite the aggressive playing.
