I finally got around to a project that required this tailpiece. Finish is good. Hardware is sturdy.Could have came with diagrams for pilot hole placement, but hey thats woodworking. After installing, the only comment I had was on the spring tension. I would advise finding a different spring for this that is shorter with less resistance, and maybe a gold one to match the rest of the hardware. It was really rigid and unforgiving, the bar stood up really high as well making a case match difficult.Don't be looking for anything with great tuning stability if its a bigsby design.

if you want to drill this on ur guitar then its awesome, works perfectly and just as good as a real bigsby, but if you want it on a mount then ur out of luck since they dont fit on vibramates

This is a cheap imitation of a Bigsby B5, and you get what you pay for. The posts to hold the strings are a little long, which prevents you from using a string spoiler. They're also long enough they can sometimes catch the strings, creating noise. It's also MUCH cheaper than a real B5, so maybe you won't mind a few limitations if you're pressed for money. If you have the money, get a real Bigsby. If not, this should be fine.

These 2 pieces as you can see in the pictures are too long and slop side to side. I can make spacers for this to correct the issue but shouldn't need too. The images in the ad are incorrect and show a snug fit as they should be. If you're not able to fix this yourself I would pass.

I'm a bit of a hack player but I've always loved the thought of having a guitar with a Bigsby on it. Found this cheap Gretsch (well under $200 used) and thought it a good candidate to enter the world of "modding". Super easy install once you "square" it to the bridge/neck etc...that took a bit of figuring. I've never played a guitar with this type of vibrato before. I found at first yes, the thing would be dreadfully out of tune after wangin' around with the thing, but I did a little reading on players' techniques with real Bigsbies and there are techniques that can be used to reduce this (plus letting your new strings stretch and settle in). I've found that gentle use and being able to find the "zeroed out" point of the spring is helpful. You need a good ear for that. So I'm satisfied. My only beef would be: I spent maybe $65 CAD on this but I see what I think are identical units much cheaper available. I doubt there is any difference between them. Either you spend around this much on El Cheapo whammy bar, or $200+ on a Bigsby. Maybe on my next guitar.

For $30, I knew that I wouldn't be receiving a Bigsby. I just thought this would be a fun project. This product looks pretty good in the photo above, but it doesn't look nearly that good in reality. There are multiple imperfections in the metal under the chrome plating. The back of the mounting plate is rough, and no felt is supplied to put between the unit and your guitar face. Count on it gouging the finish if you don't add something there as a buffer. The string pins are really long, and bent, extending well beyond the string ferrules. The mounting holes are designed for two different types of screw head. The top holes are tapered, like the screws that came with the product. The lower holes are flat bottomed, for a pan-head type screw (not included). Trying to seat the tapered screws into these holes would probably cause the screw to break. The arm does not pivot very smoothly. If you were using this on a guitar that you actually performed with, that could be problematic. It's heavy! The one I received weighs 450 grams, or 1 pound. If your guitar is around 6-7 pounds, it will weigh 7-8 pounds with this vibrato, and that additional weight will be all the way toward the bottom end. The guitar that I had intended this for is not an expensive guitar, but I'm not putting this on it, as it would be a step backward from the hardware currently installed. This part is going back.

This was really easy to install with the vibramate kit. I haven't had a chance to give it any hell, so I can't attest to consistent intonation. I did order a shorter spring so it will lay down more flush with the body. Also, I will be adding threadlock to the nut that holds the bar as it unscrews itself if you spin the bar.All in all, great cheap and easy mod.

I put this on a modern player telecaster i got in a trade. First of all this isn't my main guitar and this is a project guitar (but a nice one), just changed the pickups My first bigsby, i would maybe puy a realUsa bigsby on a $1000+ guitar, but this was perfect for me. It was easy to install, modifying my bridge to work with a vibrato was a pain. I used a dremel to make groves in the saddles and back of the bridge to keep the strings in place. I couldn't find a replacement bridge that would work well on this guitar. Anyway it works good, and stays in tune, looks awesome, and intonation is good. Im happy with it. One thing one of the pins that you would attach the ball of the string too was missing. Dont know if it fell out while i was installing it or never came with it. I'll contact the company and ask for a replacement. Btw customer service seems good. Got an email asking how i liked it a couple days after it arrived, i responded with a couple questions and they replied the next day. I'll update about the pin later. Update. I emailed about the pin on a Saturday afternoon, their customer service rep named Lucy responded that evening, she gave me a couple options on how i wanted to handle otand they will send me replacement pin. Great customer service!

This Vibrato Tailpiece is very well built, made out of solid metal and comes very close to the Bigsby B5 Vibrato Bar. The chrome is very nice and makes the guitar look amazing. It is SUPER easy to install with a drill and a screwdriver. It has a very smooth feel, bends strings with ease and will not detune your strings. And for under $40, you can't beat it.

This is a nice bigsby copy. Here is what you need to know..I bought a cheap roller bridge to go with this but I would advise against this..the stings were popping out of the rollers during bends and there is play between the rollers and the bridge so it feels janky. I put the original bridge back on and it was fine...BUT you should also do the following...Do not string under the string bar. Bypass the string retaining bar and just go from the string ball holders to the bridge if you can..I put this on an SG and it worked great. This will leave you with only a slight string angle from the bigsby which keeps you better in tune.# 2 .. Lube the nut. All you need is a few drops of wd40 on the nut slots at the top of the neck on the 3 low strings..these are the wound string and tend to bind at the nut.#3 before you string it up I would advise you put some lock tite on the nut that holds the trem arm on. This way it will not come loose. The first time I strung it up the nut became loose and the bar was eventually going to fall out. Put some lock tite or even wood glue will work...on the inside of the nut, tighen it to where you want it and you will be good

The first couple were great, this one was a cheap piece of junk. The first two were tight, well crafted ,this one was sloppy ,poor made junk. Different materials, different from the last!
