There was a famous meta survey in 2015 that found almost no value in flossing. I still did it anyway and don't regret that, but these things work much better, at least for me. I recently had a dental cleaning and the hygienist asked if I flossed and I said no, I'd swapped it for this and she was very impressed.To use it properly, you want to both remove food particles and massage your gums. Rather than avoiding sensitive areas, you want to hunt them down and punish them a little with this. You can get to the point where there's no pain or bleeding, which turns out to be important for heart health.
