The mirror fell off its holder as soon as I took this tool out of the box. I tried putting the glass back on but it wouldn’t stay. I ended up gluing with some silicone so this problem wasn’t a big deal. The next problem took a bit of effort to get around. This tool requires a special pole with two holes at the mounting end. I didn’t have such a pole or know where to buy one. I erroneously assumed I can use one of the many standard screw-on poles I own and use for painting. Luckily, I have a 3D printer and was able to make an adapter that allowed me to use one of those poles (see photos). I had to use some masking tape to keep the tool from unscrewing off the pole during use, but the adapter worked well overall.In terms of how well this works, I can say the following: this tool may be useful for some tasks, but clearing gutters is not one of those. When mounted on the end of a long pole, the assembly is top heavy and difficult to control. The tines can be retracted to around 4.5” so the rake should theoretically fit inside a 4” gutter. But roofers usually lap the first row of shingles slightly into the gutter so water can flow directly in. When I tried raking parallel to the gutters, the tool would get stuck on the shingles constantly. Raking perpendicular to the gutter didn’t work well either. Also, it seems like I’m getting caught on a gutter hanger every 5 seconds. I have high ceilings in my house, so even the lowest gutters are fairly high off the ground. The mirror on the tool is too small and too far away to help with positioning and for me to see what’s in the gutter. I tried using this rake on my gutters for around 30 minutes and gave up.

It’s made cleaning gutters and hard-to-reach places so much easier and safer. The best part is that I don’t have to climb up a ladder anymore to clean the gutters. I used to hate doing that because it always felt so dangerous, especially when I couldn’t even see what was up there. But with this tool, I can just stand on the ground and reach all those tricky spots. It’s so much safer, and I feel way more comfortable using it. Plus, it’s not just for gutters—I’ve used it to get balls and stuff off the roof too. It’s like a multi-purpose tool! The rake head is adjustable, which is super cool. It can bend and twist to fit different angles, so it’s perfect for reaching the bottom of the gutter or those corners on the roof. I was able to clean out all the leaves and gunk without any trouble. And the material is really strong—it’s made of aluminum alloy and plastic, so it doesn’t rust or break easily. I’ve used it a bunch of times already, and it still looks brand new.

I was so excited to receive this tool to help clean the leaves and fir needles off my roof and off my gutter guards. However, although it says, "just attach the rake cleaner to any standard trapezoidal thread extension pole you may already have", that isn't true. (FYI...the trapezoidal thread is the threaded connection you find on most brooms, brushes, and other yard tools.) This gutter rake requires a pole that has two holes spaced about 1.25" apart. I looked in the storefront that sold this rake to see if they sell the required rake, and they don't. So, if I can't attach this to an extension pole, of which I have several, it's useless. The whole reason I ordered it is so I can avoid going up and down ladders.The second issue I have is that it didn't come with any assembly instructions. I ended up watching and rewinding one of the videos (many times) in the listing to eventually figure it out, before discovering the issue with the connection. I've ordered a cobweb duster that comes with the standard attachment and plan to use a hacksaw to remove the duster, drill two holes in the remaining piece which is about 4-5" long, slip it inside the gutter rake, align the holes, and insert the screws that were included with the rake. My fingers are crossed that this will work otherwise it's going into the garbage.If I could return it, I would, so I can't recommend this product to anyone which is unfortunate...it looks like this could be a very useful tool.

Cleaning gutters is never a fun chore, but this tool makes it much easier. Before I got this recently, I was using a combination of a small shovel and my hands (with gloves, of course). It was messy, time-consuming, and not very effective. This tool has changed all that. The adjustable head allows me to reach every nook and cranny of my gutters, and the mirror helps me see what I'm doing. I was initially a bit skeptical about how well it would work, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It's sturdy enough to handle wet leaves and other debris, and it attaches securely to my extension pole. It also seems durable; I don't foresee it breaking anytime soon. If you're tired of struggling with gutter cleaning, I highly recommend giving this tool a try. It’s a worthwhile investment.

This gutter cleaning rake head has a modifiable width so you can easily expand its coverage area from 4” to 12” so it’ll be useful in other narrow areas, not just gutters. Its effectiveness in gutters will depend on how much leverage you can get to actually LIFT leaves out of the gutter rather than just sweeping them around. But it’s nonetheless a novel gadget that can be used on a pole which is not provided or simply using it as is. I found the mirror to be more of a gimmick than anything that would be useful. I gave it 4 stars due to the absence of any assembly instructions. It came in 4 pieces with 3 bolts, 2 twist knobs, detached mirror & strap so it was a bit of an IQ test to get it together.
