I have quite a few GVM lights and softboxes. They are good products for the money, more importantly, their customer service has been good, which is why I buy more.These softbox attachments for the 480ls and other lights, is the first true miss.It wasn't even the product I was expecting. The ones I received are corner clips that attach to the lights barn doors, some adhesive velcro, and a cloth diffusion panel and a cloth grid, that velcro in. it covers the barn doors into a "softbox", but there is no reflective interior, and the resulting build is janky at best. I did use it on a job, but I needed to use gaffers tape to make sure it all held together when I angled the light.What I was expecting, was a softbox with integrated rods, that unfolds, and attachs to the front of the light panel without the barn doors. And, that is what is being sold on the GVM website, where there is no sign of this version of the product.I guess they tried it, it seemed like a cool idea, but then they moved on and dumped the bad version on Amazon.

This will work, but assembly is very awkward and not appropriate if you need something you can remove and set up on location. Interferes with standard mounting frame.

Efficace, un peu difficile à assembler (les instructions sur YouTube sont essentielles), s'attache par-dessus le bouton on/off, ce qui n'est pas totalement ergonomique (ou alors c'est moi qui l'ai mal attaché !...).

Great company and product. Ken from GVM was accessible and helpful over the phone with regards to my diffuser soft box. Really glad I purchased this item. Its created dynamic layers in my studio. Do yourself a favor and buy this product.

Very happy with all the GVM lights and equipment that I’ve purchased over the years. These soft boxes are made exclusively for these GVM lights and they do fit well. Easy to assemble, great accessories, and when folded back up and placed in the pouches they fit in the lighting bag with everything else. All really great except the there is no place to tuck the pin that meets the connecting joint where the box meets together (see attached photo). Unless I completely missed something, I couldn’t find a suitable location for this pin to get tucked into the box the way the other 3 pins could.It all still works very well and is better than rigging anything else up that I would have had laying around.

I bought the GVM 800D on here as well and never bought this untill couple weeks later. This is a must and it fits really well! The Egg Crate is somewhat sloppy, but not a deal breaker. It works super well and will post pictures soon.

To say these can be broken down and taken to a shoot is a joke. After assembling them once, I never want to do it again and certainly not during anything time-sensitive, which means most any kind of shoot. That said, once together they do the job expected, except......as a part of the GVM light kit, they are not really useable because they can't rotate downward at all. Prepare to blind your subjects at eye level. The fix is to buy a rotating adapter to connect to the stand. A reasonable quality one is around $30/each.
