The battery seems fine, it charges and holds charge. I can't comment on how long it last compared to the stock battery, as I haven't really played with my switch in years (hence the dead stock battery). Installation was a bit of a nightmare for a couple reasons. 1. The stock battery is fixed with some double sided adhesive, and it difficult to remove using alcohol or adhesive solvent. They also fail to supply a plastic card or squeegee like other kits do. 2. The provided tools are not great, the Y tool strips very easily.

Opening the switch is a little difficult but once you get it opened and remove the original dead battery this battery is very easy to install and it works like a charm. definitely worth the price and decent effort replacing the dead battery.

Considering the price, I didn't have much hope for this being helpful in my repair attempts at all, but I was super wrong (that's 'wrong' wearing a cape, for all of you non-dads out there). The tools provided were perfectly fit for the job, and the battery slipped right in. The little adhesive strips held everything together perfectly, and you can't tell this old clutzy dad was ever there. The smiles on my son's face with his newly repaired game system are well worth hundred times what this cost!

The hardest part of this install is getting the old battery out. Whatever glue they use on that thing is STRONG! Make sure you try to work all sides of it and don't just pry on one side. You might even heat it up a little. The replacement went in easy and works great. It has breathed new life back into my v1 switch. Now when it's in sleep mode off the dock it only drains a few % and I can play about 3 hours on a full charge.

I like this battery, don't get me wrong. It just holds about the same charge time as the battery that came with the unit. Also, mine didn't have any adhesive in it, which is why I rated that so low. I wouldn't have used the adhesive anyway because it was such a pain to remove the original battery because of it. I was afraid I might damage my switch getting it out.

ordered this battery expecting it to have all its tools as it had good reviews, however it only came with 1 out of the 2 necessary and some extra ones that are useless. i now have to go and spend extra just for a screwdriver. 1 star, very disappointed

Switch was dying in under 2 hours no matter the demand from the game. The new battery got it back to between 3-4 hours for most games.*KEY* get some double sided tape to secure new battery or it will move around inside case. Original battery has foam and tape to secure it, new battery does not have either.However changing it was a pain and you must be careful, watch some youtube videos on how its done.
