there is a different HBX brushless esc on amazon with a better cooling fan and longer antenna for the same price. grab that one.

Bought this to replace one that burned up in a HBX 903a. It was easy to install and hasn't had any issues with heat. The fan is super small, however it seems to work sufficiently with no overheating so far. Definitely a good upgrade from the original that was in the truck.

I Have the HBX 905 Protector, it won’t connect to the transmitter. Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated. (It’s connected to a brushless motor) stock was brushed.
It will work with 3s batteries.

For the most part I’ve just used 2s batteries for this esc but decided to get some 3s batteries for my rc car just to do an experiment to see if this esc could run with 3s batteries and not burst into flames or turn into a fancy smoke bomb. First run with the 3s made the car way faster and way more unstable, but, it was well worth the money for the esc.One of the downsides are: The fan motor stopped working only after a few runs with it but it doesn’t seem to affect the performance of the esc too much on 2s or 3s. But with 3s it does make the motor and the esc run hotter but not by a worrying amount. If you run it back to back multiple times with a 3s it might damage the esc but I’m not sure. All in all I’m honestly very happy with this purchase. It was well worth the cost and if you’re looking for a reliable 2s esc I’d highly recommend this one and if you’re looking for one to run 3s, I’d say this might not be a bad idea for that but it would also probably be a good idea to be a little more gentle with it if that’s what you intend to do with it. But over all this is a great esc for off road rc cars and trucks. Would but again!
