About this item

  • 6 Pipe Sizes &5 in 1 Bit Combinations - 6 different sizes of drill bits, including 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1/4" and 1pcs 5 in 1 flaring tool. These expanders are designed with hexagonal shank and are suitable for installation on various manual electric drills. Our pipe expansion tool are an essential accessory for servicing air conditioners
  • High Quality Bearing Steel - The swaging tool drill bits are made of durable and wear-resistant bearing steel which help prevent the boring drill bits from rusting, and has a long service life
  • Small Size and High Efficiency - Compared with traditional manual copper pipe swaging tool HAVC, our electric boring drill bits are small in size, easy to carry and easier to use, no need to vigorously expand the copper pipe hole, with the electric drill with our drill bits, you can easily expand the hole diameter. The force of the electric drill bits are uniform, which will not cause the copper pipe to break, or not round and smooth
  • Function - This swage tool can expand the copper pipe, so that you can link the two copper pipes to each other. It is great for air conditioning repairs. But please note that the drill speed should not be too fast. This tool maintains the ductility of copper aluminum during die forging to avoid cracks and leakage
  • Use Easier - It is very suitable for HVAC installers to perform air conditioning copper pipe expansion operations without complicated learning. (Please wear anti-scalding gloves, goggles and other safety protective equipment during operation.) The curvature of the flare allows the drill to gently expand the copper tube to the specified inner diameter

I tried to flare a thin walled annealed copper baseboard heater pipe. The 7/8 expander bent on the first use.

I’ve only used these once and they do work. I used them for a small plumbing job I had to do. It took a little bit of a learning curve, but I got the job done. These would work well on HVAC tubing. Great at this price point.

Bits are not straight resulting in an uneven swage

I am repairing some frozen plumbing damage in a home that I purchased. The house has hot water heat and a few of the radiators have freeze damage in them. I removed the aluminum flanges and tried cutting the pipe back but it’s so swollen that I cannot fit a coupling on the copper tube. I was using another one of these tools but actually wore it out because of the amount of repairs that were needed in the house so I ordered a second one. This set is even better than the first one I ordered by a different manufacturer.By using these bits, I can expand the end of the tube to form a coupler in it and slide another three-quarter inch pipe directly into it. These work incredibly well. You just have to go slow, let the drill bit turn slowly and let it do the work for you. Don’t try to spin the drill at its highest speed and push or force it in. Also, it’s a good idea to wear some good thick gloves with something on them that will grip the pipe. The pipe tends to want to spin and it does definitely get very hot while you’re using this tool. They advertise it for HVAC repairs but I find this to be amazing for plumbing repairs also. Definitely something every DIY-er or Handyman should have in their toolbox. For what this will do and the headaches it saves when you need it, I feel like this is an incredible bargain for everything that is included.
