About this item

  • GEOMETRY COMPASS: This compass can draw circles from .25 to 4.5 inches in diameter and is essential for math school supplies.
  • KIDS SAFE COMPASS: Our Safe-T branded compass performs all the functions of a standard compass without the dangerous points that can sometime cause accidents.
  • COMPASS DRAWING TOOL: Help students master geometry by drawing circles with this safety compass.
  • DYSGRAPHIA TOOLS FOR KIDS: Since our compasses are shatterproof and safe, they make excellent tools for kids that have difficulty writing or drawing.
  • MATH CLASSROOM SUPPLIES: Set up your students in the classroom with these classic math school supplies.

The bullseye compass is a 3 in 1 tool providing a compass, protractor, and ruler all in one. The opening in the Direct View compass point provides the easiest, most accurate location for all circle constructions. The Quick-Set radius indicator allows immediate comparison of inches and centimeters. Circles can be drawn with diameters from 1" to 9-3/8". The built-in protractor measures and constructs angles and the ruler provides both customary US standard and metric measurements. The bullseye compass is constructed with shatter resistant plastic making for a safer and longer lasting tool. This set contains 30 compasses. For over 50 years, hand2mind has encouraged hands-on learning and discovery, driving deeper understanding and helping children unlock their full potential. Hand2mind specializes in math manipulatives designed to help students learn by doing. Particularly with learning shapes, hand2mind has you set with geometry sets, compasses for geometry, protractors, rulers and all necessary school supplies. I love these because they don't have the point. Kids love compasses to scrap thing in wood, or to poke each other. Now these compasses don't have that and have a protractor on the point you put your finger. I don't like how the red ring and plastic pop off easy, not super durable. But alot safer.

Main function of a measuring tool is to be somewhat accurate, and there are slide compasses on Amazon that actually allow you to lock the slider in place. These do not, and therefore your pencil slips and your circles aren't circles. Literally the only reason you would need a compass. They hold together ~fine~ so long as you don't drop them. Centers pop out very easily. Given that they're dirt cheap, if you have a steady hand you can make them work. Even at the low price point, they're barely worth the money. Open up the wallet a little further for the $1.25 a piece compasses that lock.

I bought these for my high school Geometry class. The students had trouble with these compasses: the circle where you hold the compass down with your finger or pencil eraser broke in several units, in others the insert was frozen in place. One student was able to pop a couple back together, but they broke again shortly after. In addition the red slider where the pencil is inserted to draw arcs slid and was very loose on several of the units. By the time all 6 of my classes had completed the construction practice, 24 of the 30 compasses were unusable. They are being returned. The design is good, but the quality is very low. Buy something else!

7 of the compasses came apart or we’re unassembled upon delivery. I can’t return them because I needed them for my students to use for an activity in class ASAP. I was able to pop together enough to make it through the day with my students but the red disc and clear view finder don’t stay in! Students were struggling to use the compass and by the end of the day I’d lost several pieces making them completely unusable! Not at all worth the money

Compass was a bit flimsy and needed a secure way of setting it into position as it moves when drawing a circle. Maybe a screw point or something similar would help

The plastic they use for these compasses is very fragile. They are very easy to break. Also, the plastic eyes that you are supposed to press down on in order to keep the compass in place pop out very easily and without them, the compasses don't work very well. They are much easier to use than a standard compass, but this particular model is VERY cheap.

There is a little round clear plastic piece that allows the full circle motion. These have a tendency to fall out fairly easily. If students are told ahead of time to look out for it, they will catch it. Just in case, buy a couple extra. TBH I'd rather deal with that then the non-functionality of the new plastic compasses that are sold these days that break after one use.

I work with special needs students who have some dexterity issues. This tool helps them make circles and with other math and art work. I also bought the teacher version that is much larger and sticks to the board. I am happy with this product.

After a few uses they become loose. For some students it was difficult to keep the correct measurement because the middle part moved.

I have another set of similar items (bought through an education-supply company as part of a larger kit), but which are somewhat better-made. These have been holding up reasonably well, although I still prefer the others.

Price is great. Type of product is great. Next time I'll splurge for the kind that locks, since my students are not the gentlest circle makers. They are also not the most careful. When these fall on the floor the circle where you press your finger down will fall out and then can easily be popped back in place. Would get better kind in the future but happy to have this product in my classroom and to have enough for all of my students.
