Your cart is empty.Snake Eye Tactical Samurai is a hand made razor sharp entry level practical shirasaya style katana sword. The Shirasaya first came into use when the sword smiths needed a place to temporarily store their sword blades. Newly forged katana swords were often stored in wooden sheath to store until they could be fitted. After sword carrying was banned in Japan, some Samurais uses Shirasaya style katana to conceal their swords. Nowadays, the Shirasaya is presented as a different style of Samurai sword. This sword is made with high temper carbon steel that can cut steel wire without chipping, and it can cut through bamboos easily. The blade was fully hand sharpened with a visible temper line. The saya and tsuka of the sword is constructed by hard wood, and finished with beautiful Blue lacquered finish. When enclosed, the saya and tsuka becomes one solid piece. The product was very well built and it was sharpened but not razor which is fine by me. The metal seems authentic and not cheap I feel for the price that I paid it was very good quality.

Overall has a decent feel. Aesthetically it's nice and came relatively sharp. Probably not sharp enough for tatami, but bottles or pool noodles. Saya fits snug, but has a build up of resin or epoxy at koiguchi- opening of saya. That makes drawing a bit tough. THE BIGGEST ISSUE! The blade has a massive bend. Right out of the box, no cuts made. On a level it's almost a 1/4" deformed. I'm really hoping that the seller will make Right on this. Otherwise it's a nicely crafted piece. I'm really hoping this is just a one off issue.

Good Katana for cutting and display. I primarily use it for cutting things more than a dusty paperweight that sits in my room which is most katanas. It comes sharpened but it could be more sharper. I would maybe use an 8000 grit whetstone and some honing leather. Its also perfect for a person who is 5'5" as it's not too long or too short for length and feels light to the swing.

It arrived packaged neatly and the blade itself is very high quality surprisingly, it came razor sharp, able to glide through paper, and the sword was perfect for training as I didn't want to use my prettier fancy katanas for practice. The coating material on the wood made it pretty dangerous to grip and swing however due to it being very slick and smooth. I wrapped some grip tape around the handle eliminating this problem, and the lack of a hilt was no longer a safety concern. It looks prettier than in the images, and it weighs pretty well, not too light, very balanced, and not heavy.It is ideal for practicing and self defense!

This would have been a really good sword for someone starting to learn how to use a katana but remember if you do get what you paid for for the price of it it was well worth the money

Garbage katanaHandle is glued onto the blade and is not full tang anyone who says its a good sword has no clue what they're talking about And it says made in China on the bladeI'm very disappointed in this product

Could be sharper and the saya is not snug so the sword will fall out or jump out if you shake it. Blade itself is solid and has held up well. If the saya was not a loose fit the sword would be exceptional for the price.
