Purchased a Bonaire island rental car which is a 2019 JAC S2 (Chinese made). This should fit as it close in size to the model it’s recommended for. Will install on my return trip. Looks like it’ll do the trick. I had the lid but no lift cords.

The product came disassembled with no instructions. How do you get the rope to stay in the ball?

I am just guessing at how this is supposed to be installed. There was a small piece of plastic that had what appeared to be a plastic circle attached. It looked like the string could be secured using that piece then attaching it to the larger ball as shown in the picture. I was able to adjust the cord by adjusting how much of the string I pulled through the large black "gromet" (not sure if that what you would call it.) It did take some twisting of the string to get it through the small hole on the other side of the gromet.

A little tricky to get the string through the ball but if you twist it for a while it does work.

If the end piece was actually able to be thread through the rubber ball part. Still trying to get that together.
