Drilled two 5mm holes into the wood shelf for the pegs. They hold securely and are quite sturdy.

Went in easy, drilled holes in birch. Looks great! Holds spices without worry of the small jars falling off the shelf and shattering on the ceramic floor or damaging the glass electric stove top.
