Didn't feel particularly protective and had no real means of securing them to the shins. I was expecting at least some kind of velcro straps or something like that.

These are by far the worst shin guards I have ever seen. Consisting of no more than two pliable, easily bent sheets of plastic barely glued to thin sheets of foam, they offer no protection whatsoever, and due to their lack of shape, are difficult to pull on and fall out easily. The quality is appalling for such a renowned brand. DON'T BUY THEM, for they're just a waste of time and energy.
