I like to mix drinks at home and have a couple of strainers. In comparison, this one feels heftier, conveying a sense and feel of quality materials and build. I have been able to use this with most of my regular-sized barware just like my other ones. I do not find that the engraved slots are of much use in my applications but it’s probably great in concept. Instead of the grooves, I would like to have the tabs that most other strainers have to keep it from falling into the glass, shaker, or whatever vessel you are using to strain from.

This is a great Hawthorne strainer with a nice minimal design that makes it easy to clean. Has enough heft to it that it doesn't feel lightweight or low quality. Strains drinks with easy, love the slots that help hold it in place while straining. Great way to up your cocktail game, good value for the price.

I got this as a present for my husband who's learning to be a bartender. He's stoked that he has this strainer, because he's been wanting one. It works just like you'd expect and it was affordable as well. It fits every mixing cup he's got. It's easy to clean, mostly just needing a rinse at times. I would recommend this as a casual strainer for every day use.

Nothing distinguishes this strainer from the ones I can get at restaurant supply stores for $5. It does the job, but it's machine-made of commodity metal alloy with no style or flair to it to justify the price. I'm gonna use it in my home bar, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Looks and feels very high quality and heavy, but it is missing tabs on the sides that keep it from falling into the mixing tin. I could just be using it incorrectly, but it is very difficult to keep at the mouth of the tin when pouring unless the tin is absolutely filled to capacity with ice.
