On my regulated bench supply putting our 12.5 volts it was drawing almost 9 amps. I feel it was moving more air than my clutched truck fan and this mounts on the radiator with no space between to draw in side air.The factory did not install an adequate engine cooling system in the 2004 GMC / Chevy 3500 with the duramax. It over heats pulling very much of a load going up a long steep hill. I think it is a problem from around 2002 thru 2005. Most people compensate by running their heater even in the summer for extra cooling.I'm adding this and an aux high flow heater core with its own fan and high flow pump mounted up high under the truck. One temp sensor and relay will control both fans and the pump.

'02 chevy Tahoe, 5.3,tow package, all original and working, however, the summer heat has put the ac system and, my motor and transmission to the thermal test. It commonly runs at about 190. But with AC on auto, she overheats up above 218 degrees. I'm worrying about blowing a hose at that point. Discovered there is a dual electric fan conversion for a stock Chevy, it's rather spendy to do completely. Hayden is my best approach for an easy install of some extra air flow, putting work on my electric system and not so much my radiator not able to keep up. Today peaked at 109 degrees outside. I did order the Hayden wiring kit with the external probe and the variable temp control so I have some adjustment. The probe installs carefully in the fins of the radiator instead of the coolant sensor, thus, why I want it adjustable. I did also order a top hose neck adapter for a more accurate inlet for a sensor to monitor the coolant temp as it should. This is $109 compared to $119 for a factory wiring kit for dual fans that the computer controls and, eliminates the stock fan and fan clutch. Any gearhead with a Chevy prefers this modification. It also prolongs the life of the water pump as well as give descrete HP and torque gains by removing the mechanical work the motor has to do for it.But, if you're every day Tom like myself and have to budget but make it work and not hacked in either, this was my final decision to order as a complete install kit. Napa auto sells Hayden, AutoZone did. O'Reilly's auto, and so on. It's not an off brand and been a round a while. I do understand these only push about 1250 cfm, but it's only for that auxillary cooling this pig is lacking from the factory. When I win that mega millions... #forever Bowties

Got it installed and was amazed the cooling it produced. Had to drive off the side of the road yesterday as temperature was rising. The fan failed. Glad I caught this. Just rebuilt my motor. Piece off junk. Lasted 3000 miles and about dynamite my freshly rebuilt engine.

I have this installed on a 97’ H1 and it works great. We have replaced the OEM Radiator with a performance Aluminium one and this fan as well. When turning on the A/C and then switching the fan on, the temperature drops another 5-10 degrees, definitely worth it. 10/10 would recommend.

This fan replaced 2 smaller fans on my custom 1980 Turbo Crolla that I thought would have been better. To my surprise, I was wrong. This is a great fan. My overheating days are over. Great fan for the price.
