The adapter did work in that in did connect my N64 to my newer TV. The issue was that the quality was absolute garbage. Very very pixelated images. It’s clearer on an old CRT style tv than on my new tv. Friends have both adapters from other places and the quality is great. Not so much with this item.

Was scouring amazon looking for controllers for my old N64 and found this HDMI adapter kit for the Older Nintendo Systems, this promises to adapt the signal from the SNES, N64, GameCube and Wii into an HDMI signal and display on screen. The unit looks fine and powers up well enough with a USB source from our TV or ac adapters. Out of 4 tv sets only my 2007 model Samsung Plasma TV will accept the video signal produced. I have a Sharp LCD and 2 element LCDs and none of them can display an image, However sound comes through on all TV's. The consoles all function using the original RCA cables and the Wii functions well with RCA and composite cables, I can't say the converter is defective as it does work well on one TV, however the Sharp TV gives me a "frequency not supported message", the Elements just don't display anything but black. The N64 and Gamecube games look marginally better on the HDMI on this 55" plasma than they do with the RCA cables and stretched image. I may be looking for a new to me CRTV display in the future as that was the native platform these systems were designed for.
