This is a perfectly working replacement for an older GM headlight switch. I installed it in a chevelle and it is working flawlessly. The pull rod is a little longer than the stock pull so I didn't use it on my chevelle. It would stick out too much and look funky. I reused the factory pull and it worked great. It was a little hard to get the pull to come out initially, but all of the switches like this are like that. You have to work at the button while pulling out just right. So far it is holding up nicely with no unexpected heat.Highly recommend.

I use these GM style switches in a lot of antique car restorations. Some aftermarket harnesses are set up with a matching plug, and the molded plug is available separately if you're building your own harness. The switch comes with a billet aluminum knob. The knob is not highly polished, but can be easily polished if desired. The knob is held on the rod with a set screw so it can be removed if you need to shorten the actuator rod. The actuator rod can be removed by fully extending it and pressing the button on the switch body so you can use your original if desired. I took off one star because the mounting threads are pretty poorly formed and have a very loose fit. The hole through the mounting nut is also oversized, allowing quite a bit of lateral movement of the actuator. Typically there would be a plastic bushing in the nut to take up this play. Most replacement switches of this type do not come with the actuator rod, knob, and nut. This is a really good value if you need all of these parts for a new/custom installation, but if you are doing a straight up replacement of an existing switch and don't need the extra parts, there are probably better quality options for about the same cost.
