I tried doing research to find the light that would work best for my needs but I couldn't find a seller that used plan English to describe their products. This light works as advertised but is definitely not what I needed.

Great heat lamp for my chicks A+++++++++

So I bought the two pack for my chicken coop. Used it one night and when I turned it on night two it has already popped (the lens is supposed to be clear and transparent). It is a heat lamp, which means it is to be used to keep the animals warm through the night, but it didn’t survive half a week and temps are in the upper 30s, so not even extreme yet. The set I bought last year from another company is still working. Adding an update, the second bulb didn’t last one night. So what value does a bulb for brooders, chicks etc. have if it has to be kept warm for it to heat the area of the object it was bought for?

Great price for set of two bulbs. It has same amount of heat compare to ones I always get from my medical supply store. I like the new design using lead free welding. Only minor downside is not as infrared compare to my medical store one. As I compare the two bulb this one is more orange and brighter.Update: 12/12/2022Well, that did not last long. Only using it 2-3 times a week the first bulb start to flicker and now it stop working. Got to use it just little over a month. On my second light bulb that came with the set let see how long the second bulb last. Will update again. But so far compare to ones u always get that easily last over a year. Not too happy with these bulbs.

I tested the actual amount of electricity it used, 2.09 amps, which comes out to be about the 250 watts as advertised. I will try to come back and edit how long the bulb lasts.

After I watched the video and with them being shatter prof I new these were the bulbs I needed. The lamps put out a lot of heat. They have kept my chicks very warm and cozy. I am changing out the 3 heat lamps in the chicken house. Durning late fall winter the chickens need at least 12 hours of light, heavy fat intake, I use black fly larva and. 1/4cup of melted lard. Doing this, we get eggs all winter.
