I got this anchor for my kayak and it works as advertised. The anchor catches on the bottom pretty easily and keeps you in the place you want until you are ready to pull it up. The anchor is pretty easy to pull up from the bottom and I haven't had any problems with it getting stuck.

Danforth anchor, 5 pound. Includes 6ft of galvanized chain and 75ft of 3/8s nylon 3 strand. Currently using this on a 23ft Beach skiff when on salt water due to tidal and wind conditions. I generally use a mushroom anchor on lakes. I've chosen to use a 5lb Danforth when a an 8lb is recommended due to space and storage. Furthermore, in anything but gale winds a 5lb Danforth is rated for 1000lbs. And I do not expect to deal with severe weather during day excursions. This is a decently built anchor, probably cast metal, but of sufficient quality for a 16-18ft craft in protected waters. the chain is a nice addition to an anchor in this price range and is intended to hold the anchors shank close to the bottom allowing the flukes to dig in thus increasing its holding power. 75ft of line allows enough scope to hold the boat in strong winds, perhaps up to 25-30 mph. For the price and use in protected waters, its a good buy.
