Makes connecting and disconnecting chin strap very quick simple. Why helmet companies don't have this type of fastener on all helmets is stupid.

I thought the device was going to be somewhat metallic. It's all plastic. It's easy to install except for having to remove the button snap on the chin strap. It works a lot better then fumbling with the double D rings on my modular helmet.

[+] Does what it's supposed to, beats threading straps through D-rings any day any time[+] Price is ok for what's offered[–] Black button (vs. red) in a black buckle is not ideal, especially if someone is assisting (friend, co-rider, first responder)[–] At times it takes two or three closing attempts to get a positive lock[–] I vastly prefer metal construction, all plastic not being as sturdy as metal lock parts(–) I prefer two release buttons on both sides of the female lock part – but in all fairness, only one Shoei helmet came with that; never seen it as aftermarketA quick-release buckle is a Must-Have (for me) – see for yourself if you like this one.

I used an Echo Quick Release for several years; and though the Echo is a good product - it's very tricky to engage and disengage. This one, with the thicker plastic fastener blades, is easier to locate into the snap when engaging, and only one finger to push the release button when disengaging. The snaps are plastic, so hopefully it will last. The only other wrinkle - if you have a snap on your helmet strap - you're gonna have to either remove it or cut the end of the strap off as the snap is not going to fit through the hard plastic eyelet when initially installing this device. (The Echo has metal parts and will give a little to allow the snap to go through). For me, this fastening device is OK. Others may want metal in their devices. To each their own.

This was easy to connect to my helmet, no damage to helmet either. It does not stay closed. Really defeats the purpose of the strap. The plastic looks deformed. I used a little piece of foam to fix it but it will be moving to the kids gocart helmet since they really don’t move fast and I have a hard time getting them to buckle anyway. The Ryde Wear buckle is twice as much but works really well and you can trust it.

Bought the other 'best seller' product and had nothing but frustration. This worked exactly as I wanted it too. Fast to snap. Fast to unsnap. No readjustment of the strap every time you use it. No strap end flying around in the breeze. You'll need to take a screwdriver to remove any snap you have on your strap since it won't fit through the small opening. But don't cut it, just remove the snap, leave the little hole, and you can then attach another snap using that hole. Just buy one at any sewing place like Johannes.

I have tried every quick release mount available on the market from Amazon and Ebay. Some felt cheap and some high quality. The issue I had with every other quick release mount is I would get skin from my neck pinched in them when attempting to latch. The Fast Hook connector doesn't have this issue because the engagement button is surrounded by plastic. It is very sturdy and very simple to attach to your helmet. If you despise the archaic double d ring system as much as me and want a simple quick connect instead this is the one you want! I use 3 of these on 3 different helmets and they all feel rock solid keeping my helmets in place.

I have used these quick release snaps on all my helmets for years, and they are durable, easy to install and work just as advertised. If you are prone to taking care of your equipment, these will last for years. If you're careless, your mileage will vary. Installation is a breeze, albeit you may have to the small button at the tip of the strap if your helmet has one, but that should be expected. I would suggest installing this without removing the D rings as in case of an accident or other mishap, you could still use the D-rings if necessary. Always wise in motorcycling to have a backup plan :)
