Instructions not clear, hard to get strip in properly but most importantly is it’s not accurate. I was extremely anemic and wanted to Check between blood work. Was always 1-2 units off which gave false hope you were doing better.

I was surprised at how accurate it actually is. I had my hemoglobin tested- it came back 13.2 . This at home test said 13.1 .. id say that's on the dot!. I couldn't ask for better.

Short review: My Quest-drawn and lab calculated bloodwork Hemoglobin was 8.8. This meter was reading 8.8 - 9.9 over a series of three tests on three different fingers. I'd call this meter "fairly accurate."Long review:This is my first foray into the wonderful world of anemia. I've been feeling like trash for a year, and stumbled upon an article describing symptoms of anemia. Before bothering my doctor about it, I decided to buy this meter to get an idea of what my iron was.Meter was simple to use - a little complicated to set date/time - if you care about that. but once you figure out what the menu screens mean, it's easy. (The 'escape' menu option is oddly worded; i forget what it says at the moment.)Also, the capillary tube sample collector thing was difficult to use, so I forged ahead without it. (As a life-long Type-1 diabetic, I'm what you could call an expert in finger sticks and getting enough blood and putting it on a strip without touching the strip.) I don't THINK forgoing the sample collector affected the results? So, the results of this machine was within 1 point of my actual blood-work result: I'd call that a 'win' for an Amazon purchase.I'll continue to use this monitor in between blood draws to monitor my hemoglobin, to at least give me a 'trend' - is it rising? falling? etc. - knowing that it's not 100% medical-grade accurate, but good enough and helpful data.

Seems like it works. Scarce on instructions so use YouTube to get a demo on how to use it.

Was having trouble with high hematocrit so bought this kit and tested it several times by using it to get a reading, then going in and donating blood and checking it against the reading they got with medical grade, calibrated equipment and this always read quite a bit lower. Stopped using it after a while since it seemed to be so inaccurate. That said, easy to use and has everything you need to test.

This photo shows what’s it comes with this kit. Very easy to use. Helps me track my anemia. (Please ask your hematologist when to track your bloodwork.)

The device is pretty easy to set up and use. The instructions are a little over complicated, but use of the machine is pretty straightforward. Unsure of how accurate the results are but I can see the trend of my hemoglobin levels going up over time

I just received this meter and it is by far the easiest to use! For one, the directions for setup are in several languages. Two, everything is included and the instructions are very detailed. ONE THING TO NOTE: Be careful when buying extra test strips. This meter, as most of them, only comes with 25 strips and, as someone who will get a lot of use out of this meter, I bought extras. MAKE SURE the brand of the meter MATCHES the brand of the test strips. The recommended strips with this meter are the Mission brand, but that code card does not fit this meter. You have to search for the Yicare hemoglobin test strips. They are the only ones that will fit. Overall, I am very pleased with this meter, and highly recommend!!!!
