One of the most outstanding features of these loudspeakers is how good they look. But be careful where you put them because they are so convincing that your dog may wish to relieve himself on them! All kidding aside, these loudspeakers really do look good and will blend into your garden, rock-scape, pond, nature exhibit, outdoor mall or PA system, movie set or even a "man-cave" in a very convincing way, especially when well-adorned with surrounding landscape materials. The loudspeakers are massive (as in heavy) and passive (meaning they need an amplifier to work). They have no built-in amplifier, power circuitry or built-in wireless capability. These are designed to be connected to the rest of your sound system just like you would with old-school speakers. With the advent of all-in-one speakers which feature wireless connectivity and built-in amplification, some may view these "simpler" speakers as being unnecessarily inconvenient. But it is exactly this simplicity and singleness in purpose that makes them an even more attractive solution in many cases. I could go into detail about the flexibility and pros and cons of traditional loudspeakers versus modern, wireless, powered speakers, but there are plenty of articles on the subject already, and if you're reading this, you probably already know what some of these pros and cons are. In any case, my favorite of these benefits is having the flexibility to drive these speakers with any amplifier I choose, and not having to worry about routing a high voltage cable to survive the punishment of the weather while not posing a safety risk under those conditions (i.e. rain, UV and chemical corrosion). In my testing I had the speakers hooked up to an inexpensive ($35) Bluetooth-capable, bargain-basement amplifier. Sound reproduction was decent. Loud and clear, or soft and clear or anywhere in between, with a hint of enclosure resonances in some particular mid-range frequencies, leading to a bit of "boxiness" to music or vocal sound, but not so much as to be overly distracting. I attribute some of this mild unpleasantness to the cheap amplifier I was using, which I suspect was considerably underpowered and coming nowhere near to being considered audiophile grade. The cheap amplifier may also have contributed to a noticeably diminished sub-bass output, but then again, speaking as someone who has built my own subwoofer enclosures, it could also be an inherent design flaw in the speakers themselves. They seem to be more capable in reproducing mid-bass to vocal ranges, reaching somewhat into the higher end of the audio spectrum, but unless you are located within the cone of sound emanating from the front of the speakers, you will likely miss the finer details. These speakers are highly directional, probably owing to the fact that the drivers must be recessed into the enclosure for weatherproofing reasons. The bottom of the speaker enclosure (the "rock") is sealed with a heavy gauge plastic baseplate shaped to fit and cover the entire bottom of the speaker. The baseplate is bolted onto the enclosure body and sealed with a thick layer of hand-applied, clear silicone caulking. The speaker cable is routed into the enclosure from the bottom through a weather-proof electrical gland nut (see photo). The speaker cable coming out of the enclosure is substantial and appears to be made of a sufficiently weather resistant thick-gauge flexible PVC material. The sheathing of the wires inside the cable also appears to be substantial and weatherproof. I have not used the enclosures in wet/rain conditions, so I cannot offer an opinion about that.In conclusion, these commercial-grade outdoor loudspeakers are well-built, sound sufficiently clear and produce enough sound to be heard from one side of the yard to the other (with a cheap amplifier) and make for convincing decoys in the yard. I have no doubt they can handle 600 Watts of power (peak), considerably lower power handling in RMS power terms, but again, this only if the mfr's specs are to be taken literally. I have not tested them for power handling with a suitable amplifier.

Received them, hooked them up and no sound. I bought them to replace a pair of rock speakers i had that still worked but the finish was coming off and they stuck out like a sore thumb. Hooked up the new speakers and there wasn't any sound. i hooked the old ones back up and they worked fine. I returned them. Might have just got a bad pair but i will get another brand at this point.

The sound is great and does the trick for outdoor sound. To be truthful, I have totally obnoxious LOUD neighbors that get busy from 7 pm - wee hours. I must sleep and work and by midnight I have a headache so I crank up the white or pink sound music on PANDORA. I plan on painting by sponging mine with brown tones too leaving the black speckles for shading, to bland in with my pavers under my gazebo GREAT heavy product that will not blow away even during a bad Florida storm.

I love these rock speakers. I have been wanting to get a set for quite a while now and I’m so glad I got these. They blend in with my rock garden and I can hide the wires easily. I think the sound is really good and works great for me.

Purchased these to hook up to my external speakers on our hot tub. They look great and are really nice for the price. They sound really good, and I would buy them again.

They sound amazing. I rhought I would need them close together for better sound quality, but yjey are equipped with Right and Left channels in each, Now I have them approx. 50Feet apart and it looks like they have a new home in my backyard,
