I got this because I planned on taking the scanner out for art projects. It offers pretty great protection. The material and zipper is strong. My only criticism is that the top storage area doesn't off much room beyond a small USB cable and 2 batteries. I got the smallest memory card case I could find and it really can't fit anywhere in the case.

This was so nice to have the protection of the hard case in a recent trip to keep the scanner safe, so we were able to scan pages in a family bible from the 1800's!
